The Role

Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in business support within an international R&D organization? Do you enjoy bringing structure, coordinating across teams and helping colleagues work efficiently? Keep on reading!

We are looking for a motivated intern to join our global Business & Program Support team within Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) & R&D Operations. You will support colleagues based in the Netherlands with administrative and operational activities, including meeting coordination, presentation preparation, calendar planning, travel arrangements and local team activities.

You will work closely with colleagues in the Netherlands and collaborate with Facilities, IT, other assistants, and colleagues and student workers in Denmark and the US. Throughout the internship, you will receive guidance from experienced colleagues and gradually take on more responsibility. The role offers an opportunity to learn how business support contributes to an international R&D organization.

This is a six-month internship reporting directly to the Manager, NL Team Lead, Business Support.

Responsibilities


  • Provide administrative and operational support to PPM & R&D Operations colleagues based in the Netherlands.
  • Support calendar planning and scheduling meetings across time zones using Microsoft Outlook.
  • Support the preparation and updating of presentations and meeting materials.
  • Help organize employee recognition activities in the Netherlands, including work anniversaries, gifts and celebrations.
  • Coordinate practical arrangements for internal and external meetings, including meeting rooms, catering, meeting materials and welcoming guests.
  • Assist with business travel arrangements, including flights, hotels and transfers, and support travel and expense processes.
  • Support local team meetings, training sessions and social activities in collaboration with IT, Facilities and other colleagues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and student workers in Denmark and the US to share knowledge and improve administrative processes.
  • Help maintain meeting action and topic overviews and support meeting preparation and follow-up.
  • Perform other ad-hoc administrative duties as needed.


Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant vocational or bachelor's degree program at a Dutch educational institution (e.g., Business Administration, Office Management or a related field).
  • This internship must be a formal, mandatory component of your degree program required for graduation; we cannot consider candidates who have already graduated or who are seeking an extracurricular internship.
  • Available for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Technically savvy; interest or experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
  • Eagerness to learn, a proactive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting others.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • A service-minded, flexible and approachable attitude.
  • Discretion when handling confidential information and meeting materials.

General Information

  • Internship duration: 6 months.
  • Start date: 1 February 2027.
  • Location: Utrecht, Netherlands.
  • This is a full-time hybrid internship position.


The proposed gross annual/monthly base salary range for this position, in the primary location, based on a full time schedule is:

EUR750,00---750,00

The final salary offer will depend on several factors, including your skills, qualifications, and experience.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as discretionary bonuses and long-term incentives.
