The Opportunity:
As the Demand and Supply Manager, you will oversee the supply chain to ensure Astellas products are delivered on time, with the right quality, quantity, and cost throughout the product life cycle. This includes managing sales across Europe, overseeing distribution and transport, and ensuring compliance with export/import regulations.
The Supply Chain team in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa manages demand and supply processes, optimizes the distribution network, and ensures customer service excellence. Your team collaborates with manufacturing sites, sales affiliates, and global supply chain organizations, while implementing best practices and reducing costs. You will also handle governance of warehouse and distribution management in Europe and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Activities for this role:
- Create, shape, and communicate the strategy and vision for the European Demand & Supply function, ensuring clarity and consistency across all touchpoints in all geographies.
- Lead the European Demand and Supply organization in executing operational policies, projects, and processes to enable the successful delivery of the strategy across all affiliates and products in the EMEA region.
- Develop and align the long-term forecast (MTP) and budget in collaboration with internal teams, ensuring an aligned and reliable forecast and budget for product flows in and out of the EMEA region.
- Manage and secure the supply plan in SAP for dedicated products, ensuring end-to-end stock levels are maintained, including finished products, intermediates, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and critical components.
- Monitor and report supply chain performance, securing timely delivery of end-to-end supply chain reporting and providing insights to management and stakeholders for timely decision-making.
- Act as an escalation point for supply chain planning-related disruptions (e.g., delayed deliveries or stock availability issues), ensuring correct decision-making and prioritization across the organization.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, or operations management, with at least 3-5 years of experience, ideally in international supply chain planning.
- Excellent knowledge of business, economics, or supply chain management, supported by a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proven ability to analyze data effectively, with strong numerical and analytical skills that drive actionable insights and informed decision-making.
- In-depth experience in managing multiple tasks and projects, demonstrating excellent organizational and planning skills in complex, multi-country environments.
- Proven ability to work in a multi-country/culture environment, with a demonstrated track record of collaborating and communicating effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous Experience in implementing organizational change within the supply chain, particularly in leading and managing improvements.
- Experience with financial and accounting systems, integrating supply chain planning with financial data for comprehensive reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP/APO systems and participation in related supply chain management projects.
- Fluent in written and spoken business English.
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or equivalent.
Additional Information:
- This is a permanent, full-time position.
- This position is based in the Netherlands.
- This position follows our hybrid working model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 1 day per week in the Netherlands office. Flexibility may be required in line with business need. Candidate must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
