Senior Research Associate, Screening and Assay Technologies

The role

As a Senior Research Associate in the Screening & Assay Technologies (SAT) team you will be part of the Antibody Discovery Technologies department working within the Discovery organization . SAT design s, performs and analyze s high throughput (HTP) assays to determine the activity of Genmab’s future antibody products . As a Senior Research Associate, you will perform high th r oughput screen s using stat e of the art technology . You will work on the foundation of the identification and characterization of new antibody drugs that address high-unmet need diseases. In addition to working with in the SAT team , you will work closely with many other research teams within Discovery in a highly multidisciplinary and collaborative way.

Responsibilities

  • You will work in a team of scientists and research associates dedicated to performing high throughput screens to identify new antibody products.

  • Using your up-to-date knowledge of and experience with assays used in immunology, cell biology, and/or oncology, you are responsible for the accurate execution of various types of functional assays, focused on luminescence read outs , using tumor cells, reporter cells and primary cells.

  • You will perform screens using fully and semi-automated platforms in multi-well plate formats.

  • You understand the fundamental concepts behind the assays and product concepts enabling you to contribute to the best screen design for each high throughput screen .

  • You are results focused and enjoy working on a project basis to contribute screening data to various teams in Discovery in a high quality and timely fashion.

  • You organize your own experiments , can work independently and re c ognize the importance of adhering to procedures and detailed documentation of your work.

Requirements

  • You have a completed HLO (BSc) or MSc degree in Life Sciences.

  • You have a minimum of 3 years work experience in the field of pharmacology, oncology , biotech and/or molecular biology.

  • You have an affinity with technology and automation , and you enjoy making functional assays more efficient . Experience with high throughput screening would be advantageous .

  • You have extensive experience with culturing of adherent and /or primary cells, and various functional cellular assays ( especially luminescence-based readouts ).

  • You love to work in the lab and face experiments with a problem-solving attitude and inspire others with your ‘getting things done’ mentality.

  • You are flexible and capable of running several projects parallel to each other, adjusting priorities appropriately together with the project and screening team.

  • Experience with Tibco Spotfire or other data analysis software is a plus.

  • Experience with electronic laboratory notebook reporting is an advantage.

  • You have experience working in a dynamic company (or a strong desire to)

  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, and you are fluent in English, both written and verbal.
