The Senior Director leads the mid to long-term Supply Chain Large Molecule Drug Substance and Drug Product network (internal & external) investment discussion from a combined engineering, technology, and business point of view to create impact on strategic results like go-to-market, return on investment and efficiency of project execution.  This scope will include Drug Substance (continuous perfusion / fed-batch upstream/ downstream technologies) and Drug Product (Fill & Finish / Device Assembly / Packaging).

The Senior Director is accountable for the Platform network capital strategy and prioritization to meet current and future needs based on process/equipment capacity analysis, risk analysis, and future demand, technology, and capability capacity and needs for the internal and external manufacturing network across the Large Molecule Platform Drug Substance and Drug Product Network. As part of the Network Strategy plan the Senior Director will ensure that the strategy is appropriately reflected and prioritized in the LRFP.

The role leads from a Large Molecule Drug Substance and Drug Product process engineering point of view in the internal and external network decisions, conducts strategic asset management across platforms, formulates and secures approval of masterplan strategy and plans execution. In addition, this role reviews and assesses risk for the network, and creates resilience to future external challenges and shifts in product portfolio structure.

Furthermore, this role and the associated team lead site masterplans, site engineering and maintenance support in alignment with the network strategy.

For network and manufacturing (including direct manufacturing support such as labs, utilities, and facilities) projects above certain financial and complexity thresholds, the Senior Director is responsible for the conceptual design, feasibility studies, process design, and finetuning to fulfill business needs. The Senior Director will in collaboration with the GET VP, EP&S VP, Platform VP Leaders, and local teams assess, select and recommend the optimal implementation plan.

Rooted in deep technical expertise the Senior Director will drive process engineering innovation across Drug Substance and Drug Product technologies for equipment and facilities for high complex solutions ensuring technical knowledge is maintained and expanded throughout the team.

The Director will co-lead building a team of sought-after, business savvy, process engineer talents and encourage two-ways capabilities exchange with partners.

The Senior Director and his/her team will interact with a variety of partners across Janssen, but key partners include MSAT, E&PS, DPDS, Network Group, Tax, CMO / External Partners, and the local platform site masterplans with site engineering (MAM) teams. The Senior Director will also partner with external equipment vendors, and engineering firms.

The compensation base ranges from : $160k-$247k US Dollars.

Qualifications

·       Leads site masterplans with site maintenance and x support in alignment with the network strategy for Drug Substance Facilities.

·       Leads the engineering innovation and concept planning for equipment and facilities following MSAT’s product guidance

·       This position is responsible for the development and movement of process engineering talent across the MTO Platforms and across JSC

·       This individual is a full member of the Global Engineering & Technology Leadership Team and participates, drives, owns, shapes, and leads the platform strategy and G&O’s together with the other LT members.
