For our animal health location in Boxmeer we are currently recruiting a Warehouse Manager

Welcome in our team

The Boxmeer site is part of the global AH manufacturing division and manufactures and packs a significant volume of Animal Health products. The Integrated Process Team (IPT) Inbound is responsible for timely delivery of starting materials to the production IPT’s, Quality and R&D Laboratories. Core activities of the IPT are Planning & Purchasing, Goods Receipt & Sampling, Warehousing, Production of Media Intermediates, a Service Unit and a supporting Improvement department. The Central Warehouse (CWH) is responsible for the receipt, storage and delivery to various customers of starting materials (chemicals, excipients etc.), packaging materials and all the seeds to start-up vaccine productions. It provides a central hub role in receipt & deliveries to the various customers. The central warehouse building has appr. 4500 pallets places but also various other locations (6 in total) are in use. Outsourcing of recycling & 3PL storage activities is also part of the scope of CWH. The processes are governed by SAP and storage conditions vary from Nitrogen storage, -70⁰C & -20⁰C freezers to Ambient.

Purpose of the role

The primary purpose of this versatile position is operational management of the warehouse team (± 13 employees). The Warehouse Manager is accountable for timely execution of the warehousing and transportation activities according to our safety and quality standards. This requires working in close co-operation with peers in different departments in- and outside the IPT. Our site is growing and you will be sponsoring different projects to ensure alignment with your suppliers & customers.  The Warehouse Manager reports to the IPT Lead and is a member of the IPT Management Team.

Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Oversees and manages the execution of a broad variety of operational warehousing & transportation processes. Responsible for delivering according to schedule.

  • Coaches an experienced team in achieving the output by daily Tier meetings, being on the shopfloor and developing people to continuously improve processes.

  • Aligns with different departments or external parties in case of changing requirements, issues and improvements. Plays a key role in balancing the different perspectives and develops the best possible solution.

  • Is the key contact for service providers like external storage, recycling packaging materials, etc.

  • Ensures facilities & equipment is operational and aligned with demand and works closely together with various parties to implement several improvement projects.

  • Plays an important role in the IPT management team to co-develop the strategic alignment with the different departments and the site.

  • Leads and continuously improves the safety culture within the team. Coaches and leads various improvement projects and ensures Safety is our number one priority. Responsible in case of incidents for root cause investigation, implementing CAPA’s etc.

Your profile

  • Minimum HBO or higher degree in Operational Management / Supply Chain / Logistics ;

  • At least 3-5 years proven Experience in Logistics and/or Warehousing;

  • A least 3 years’ experience in managing teams;

  • Preferred experience in GDP/GMP (food or pharma);

  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) on the shopfloor;

  • Strong EHS mindset and a passion for improving safety on the shopfloor;

  • Excellent communicator in both Dutch and English.
