Senior Pharmacovigilance M anager

Purpose of the role

As senior pharmacovigilance manager you have a key role to ensure that animals receive safe medicines. You are a designated point of contact and have the primary task taking care of the several pharmacovigilance tasks of the regulatory affairs unit. You are a local expert in pharmacovigilance and the first point of contact for internal communication within our company’s animal health and for external communication with authorities.

Welcome in our team

The senior pharmacovigilance manager for the Netherlands is deputy designated point of contact for Belgium and Luxembourg, and the designated point of contact for Belgium and Luxembourg is the deputy designated point of contact for the Netherlands. You work together closely, upholding of compliance with European and national law and legislation, and internal business principles and policies with respect to PV is essential. The DPOC is the coordinator between Global Pharmacovigilance, Global Regulatory Affairs and/or Global Qualty and the national authorities for PV specific topics.

Main responsibilities

  • Pharmacovigilance case entries;
    Follow-up management and documentation.
    PQC case entry, follow-up management, and documentation.
    Counterfeit, Diversion and Tampering (CDT) case processing and documentation.
    Communicating with the national authorities regarding PV (cases, questions, urgent safety issues, other).

  • General Pharmacovigilance tasks:
    Acting as PV subject matter expert for internal questions, coming from Marketing, Sales, Veterinary Services Liaisons, Clinical Trials, Research & Development, Discovery & Technology.
    Participation in meetings with colleagues from other units to discuss relevant PV topics and to be updated on relevant topics from those groups.
    Involvement in, and review if applicable, of promotional items or information in case of PV related topics, e.g. Direct Veterinary Medicines Communications.

  • Pharmacovigilance Compliance tasks:
    Establishing and updating local procedures in line with applicable legislation and guidance.
    Screening national literature on potential AEs that are not covered by Scopus.
    Managing local contracts with third parties when PV is involved.
    Training of employees regarding pharmacovigilance, keeping track of training status.
    Preparation of and participation in PV audits and inspections, managing CAPAs.

Your profile

  • Master degree, preferably in Veterinary Science, Pharmacy, Human Medical Science, or in Life Sciences (Biology, Medical Biology, Life Sciences, Chemistry, etc.).

  • Knowledge of and experience in clinical vet work or in relevant expert areas in RA of VMPs.

  • Knowledge and experience in the area of PV, preferably of veterinary medicines.

  • Strong analytical capabilities and communication skills.

  • Stress resistant, decisive and result driven.

  • Compliance and quality driven.

  • Excellent speaking and writing capabilities of the Dutch and English language. French language is a benefit.
