Supply Planner

Purpose of the role
The Supply Planner will manage inventory and be in close contact with local and global stakeholders to achieve the desired outcome in relation to quality, service and total cost by prioritizing supplies and pursue continuous improvement.

Welcome in our team

Planning & Purchasing is part of the Inbound department within the production organization of our Animal Health campus in Boxmeer. The department is responsible for planning the availability of more than 1800 materials varying from vials to media and sera, which are being supplied by two internal production departments and about 200 vendors. The users of these materials differ from R&D, production, Quality and support departments in different countries which makes Planning & Purchasing a fascinating part of the organization. The goal of the department is to optimize material availability and prevent surprises by providing customers and suppliers as soon as possible with correct, complete and relevant information regarding challenges in supply.

Main responsibilities

Inventory Management

Responsible for:

  • Continuously monitoring and optimizing inventory levels at internal & external warehouses.
  • Periodically analyzing and maintaining MRP master data in close cooperation

with stakeholders (e.g. minimum order quantities, lead-times, safety stock levels, etc)

  • As soon as possible identifying inventory of questionable value
  • Suggesting and pursuing opportunities to prevent obsolete stock
  • Initiating and co-approving phase out of materials

Supply Management

Responsible for 100% availability of materials by:

  • Analyzing (long term) consumption and future demand (including non BoM demand)
  • Evaluating purchase requisitions generated by the ERP system.
  • Monitoring order confirmations and delivery lead-times of outstanding purchase orders and taking action when timely availability is in danger
  • Managing supplier delivery problems (complaints, documentation issues, etc.), taking ownership and attuning with appropriate parties to resolve issues
  • Priority setting (in case required) for Goods Receipt & Sampling, Quality Control and Quality Assurance departments

Your profile

  • Preferably APICS or NEVI certified or equivalent
  • A Bachelor degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Enthusiastic team player
  • Customer focused in a dynamic environment
  • Focused on collaboration with a constructive and proactive attitude
  • Passion for (data driven) continuous improvement and willing to make personal change
  • Good communication skills both in writing and speaking in Dutch and English
  • Good understanding of Supply Chain concepts and SAP-MM module
