Job Description

The Organon Global Procurement & Supplier Management (GPSM) Organization partners with the business to develop and execute direct and indirect sourcing strategies, enabled by agile business processes and strong supplier performance management, to drive improved business outcomes.

We are currently recruiting for an Associate Director, Procurement Process Excellence, Operations Lead , reporting to the Executive Director, Global Procurement & Supplier Management.  Specifically, this role will include the responsibilities outlined below:

Contracting and Operational Lead for the following:

  • External contracting delivery team (outsourced),

  • External team responsible for conducting supplier administrative tasks, uploading contracts to contract repository, contract template enablement, sourcing template enablement, catalog management inclusive of pricing, oversight of the guided buying procurement processes, direct material tiered pricing updates, and other  related activities for procurement end-to-end processes.

  • Diagnosis and root cause analyses of source to settle escalations that come to the procurement function including payment blocks, unpaid invoices, PO creation guidance, proper payment methods, and supplier master data changes.

  • Strong people management skills to provide leadership for a team of 20+ (internal and external).

  • Ensure a seamless and integrated end-to-end contracting process for global low complexity, low risk contracting for all Indirect and Research Procurement Categories that supports multiple divisions and functional areas within our Company such as our Research & Development, Business Technology, Commercial, Global Business Services, Office of General Counsel, and Human Resources.

  • Develop a comprehensive operational model that delivers efficiencies driven through KPIs, SLAs, select, enable and operationalize technology driven solutions that optimize performance within the Global Procurement and Supplier Management organization.

  • Evaluate the identification of low risk, low complexity, repeatable, and standard work across the GPSM Organization. Determine the best solution to manage this work and evaluate shared services models that may be fit for completing this work more efficiently.

  • Enable team to provide a robust business model delivering market insights from benchmarking tools to support category and sourcing initiatives.

  • Oversight of the GPSM savings and yield tracking process in alignment with GPSM’s cross functional finance partners

  • Lead selection process of technology solutions that will enable stronger operational performance globally for contracting best practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse team inclusive of both external and internal direct reports while ensuring the team delivers on cycle time and efficiency improvements.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to enable best in class strategies delivering both quick wins and genuine innovative breakthroughs.

  • Ensure robust end-to-end contract negotiation plans are developed and executed between Sourcing, Category, and Contracting teams.

  • Supplier Development and Performance Management –

    Build relationships and manage key supplier performance against business requirements using proven processes to drive the realization of the full value of the key relationships.

    Collaborate with the business and procurement category leads to establish meaningful supplier performance KPIs that are measurable, tied to business outcomes, and reviewed routinely to monitor performance and address poor performance.

    Drive Continuous Improvement with suppliers to improve operational efficiency.  Develop process maps and lead review of processes to identify and deliver on-going improvement.

    Ensure GPSM is partnering with the right outsourced partners, continuously evaluate the relationships with respect to the market, tender, find, and implement new third parties, as needed, to provide procurement outsourced support.

  • Stakeholder Management and Business Sponsorship – Work in a way that positively engages the support of stakeholders using problem solving and proactive communication skills.

  • Project and Change Management - High quality project and program management skills and a proven ability to manage change both internal and external through to successful completion.

  • Proactive Cost Management: Achieve cost control, cost reduction, and cost containment targets, and add value to area of expenditure through a strong Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) orientation and process management.

  • Talent Development - Actively contribute to the development of the team, helping them build their knowledge in the categories under management.

Education Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience directly in operations, with demonstrated experience supporting a cross divisional, legal, source to settle and a global portfolio.

  • Management of large team (15+ individuals).

  • Highly skilled with demonstrated leadership in supplier performance management for a portfolio of large external partners and suppliers.

  • Strong Negotiation Skillset

  • Analytical - Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze large complex data sets to derive relevant intelligence in developing sourcing strategies or supporting negotiations.

  • Strategic Vision:  Able to understand a global long-term vision based on a thorough understanding of industry trends and opportunities.

  • Business Acumen: Ability to engage with business leaders around business strategy, goals, and business outcomes, and apply sound judgment and decision making.

  • Influencing: Advanced ability to partner, collaborate and impact decisions at all levels within and outside the organization.

  • Innovation:   Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and find innovative solutions whilst working in an ambiguous, transformational business environment.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills at senior levels.

  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • English language fluency.

  • Strong Portfolio Management Skillset.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

  • MBA or advanced degree and / or relevant certifications desirable.
