Department Description:

Opella Healthcare Participations BV (OHP) is a holding company based in The Netherlands.

OHP will operate as a sub-holding of the Consumer Healthcare subsidiaries with the goal to facilitate the financial management activities (e.g. manage the dividend-in and dividend pay-out process, etc.)

Core activities/Areas of result

Purpose of the job: Responsible for the accounting and controls for all financial transactions within Opella Healthcare Participations B.V.

Main responsibilities of the OHP Controller:

  • Monitor the timely and accurate reporting for Group reporting by GBS A2R

  • Ensure that Ways of Working & Governance are in accordance with the Dutch participation exemption Regime

  • Ensure timely and accurate external reporting (e.g. to Central Bank)

  • Manage and monitor the dividend in and dividend out process

  • Manage and monitor the cash position and future cash needs together with Treasury

  • Manage and monitor costs to be cross charged by Finance/GBS in & out to OHP

  • Ensure that legal restructurings/acquisitions initiated by the Group are processed accurately in the books

  • Statutory financial reporting: support the process and do consistency checks

  • Manage periodical external reviews

  • Maintain and ensure compliance with the Group Internal Control framework

In addition, OHP Controller will closely work on company secretary matters with the CHC Head of Legal Corporate & Finance in order to oversee company secretary matters, with external providers if needed, for OHP and OHP’s subsidiaries.

Operational management

  • Support the monthly reporting, P&L, Balance sheet and Intercompany reporting performed by GBS teams

  • Monitor the accuracy and completeness of the reporting in applicable Group reporting systems (e.g. SOLAR, TWIN, MyTax)

  • Ensure that all contracts/transactions initiated are in compliance with the Dutch Legal & Tax requirements

  • Review, validate and provide expertise on accounting treatment for complex transactions

  • Responsible for financial analytics

  • Responsible to prepare budgets and forecasts

  • Responsible for external reporting requirements (Dutch Central bank, Bureau of Statistics)

  • Provide support to GBS A2R in the audit and Account Committee preparations

  • Provide support to CHC Head of Legal Corporate & Finance with legal matters for OHP and OHP’s subsidiaries

Interactions

Ensure strong, constructive transversal international relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, such as:

  • Tax, GBS teams: A2R, S2V, Ci2C, Treasury, Legal, Ethics & Business Integrity,  Consolidation, Internal Control, ITS, etc)

  • Acts as a business partner to (senior) management

Background

  • Finance equivalent or master’s degree in finance and/or accounting

  • 5 years of relevant experience in an international working environment

  • Experience in project management

  • Strong financial skills, Tax knowledge is a pre

  • Ability to work with and deal with confidential / sensitive data

  • Experience with internal controls, compliance, audits

  • Experience with financial applications, tools and spreadsheets is a must

IT Solutions

  • Proven experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA is a pre)

  • Experience with reporting solutions

  • Excellence skills with MS Office (Excel, Power point)

  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written)

  • Strong knowledge of financial operations and structures

  • Pro-active, able to take the initiative

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • International background with exposure to multicultural environments
