Our Medical Affairs function serves as a strategic partner with Clinical, Commercial, Regulatory, and Market Access teams, providing therapeutic solutions to support patients’ needs. Business Rationale

The Global Medical Immunology team is dedicated to supporting Sanofi’s commitment to scientific exploration. We work on first-in-class treatments and have a robust pipeline of potential new medicines for chronic dermatologic, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and rheumatologic diseases. This represents an unprecedented volume of stakeholder engagement tactics that need to be developed, coordinated, and executed to prepare for the launches in the coming 3-5 years.

To deliver on Sanofi’s ambition to be a leader in immunology, we are seeking a Global Ecosystem Engagement Lead to join the Global Medical Immunology team.

Main responsibilities

The Global Medical Scientific Ecosystem Engagement Lead will be responsible for developing and nurturing strategic external stakeholder relations, as well as working cross-functionally in the Global Medical Affairs team to deliver an operational framework and ways of working aligned with organizational objectives. Strategic external stakeholders include, but are not limited to, medical professional associations, patient advocacy groups, and clinical and academic research institutes. The Global Medical Scientific Ecosystem Engagement Lead will also participate in events and related activities within the immunology pipeline franchise at Sanofi Specialty Care.

The Global Medical Scientific Ecosystem Engagement Lead will report to the Global Science and Medical Engagement Lead. The position will also work closely with Global Medical Leads and Medical affiliates to operationalize and improve the stakeholder engagement framework and ways of working, contributing to efficient and optimized strategies globally.

Principal Duties

  • Develop and nurture relationships within the medical and scientific ecosystem to enhance collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic alignment
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are aligned with organizational objectives and are executed efficiently
  • Lead and manage projects within the global medical affairs for the immunology pipeline, ensuring timely delivery, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Develop and implement governance and Ways of Working (WoW) across the pipeline franchise to ensure alignment, consistency, and excellence in operations
  • Operationalize a comprehensive stakeholder engagement framework for the global team across the pipeline
  • Provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and opportunities to senior management, ensuring transparency and proactive problem resolution
  • Collaborate closely with local cross-functional teams, as well as global and regional medical affiliates, to devise an effective communication strategy and foster Key Opinion Leader (KOL) development
  • Act as key strategic partner contributing to the external network building and growth, and training of local Medical teams, enhancing their skills and knowledge, and supporting field medical execution
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with internal stakeholders at the global and regional levels, facilitating the exchange of best practices between international and country medical and field teams
  • Ensure strict adherence to established corporate and industry compliance guidelines, aligning all activities with legal and ethical standards

About you

  • An advanced Science or Medical degree (PhD, MD, or PharmD) with strong business acumen and over 5 years of experience in the pharma/biotech/consulting industry is preferred OR
  • Alternatively, an MSc degree in immunology with strong business acumen and over 10 years of experience in the same industries will also be considered
  • Demonstrated experience in ecosystem engagement is a must
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence with the capacity to engage a variety of stakeholders
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to inspire teams towards achieving common goals
  • Proven experience in project management within medical affairs or related areas in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge in immunology, dermatology, gastroenterology, or respiratory
  • A mindset driven by curiosity and thoughtful risk-taking
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Requires professional fluency in English. Proficiency in additional languages (e.g. French, German, Chinese, Japanese) is a plus
