Our Team, Your Impact

Responsible for the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of primary production equipment within the parenteral manufacturing environment. The Operations Mechanic executes first- and second-line technical interventions, supports production continuity, and ensures equipment availability in line with cGMP and EHS requirements.

The Production Equipment Technician performs hands-on technical activities on production equipment. The role focuses on execution and operational support and does not carry engineering ownership, project leadership, or maintenance strategy responsibility.

How You’ll Spend Your Day

  • Execute first- and second-line troubleshooting on aseptic filling lines, lyophilizers, visual inspection systems, serialization equipment, and complex generics equipment (e.g. TFF, homogenizers).
  • Support production during operational activities.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as defined by Engineering & Maintenance.
  • Replace and adjust mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control components within scope.
  • Ensure equipment is returned to a qualified and operational state after interventions.
  • Accurately document all activities in SAP and GMP systems.
  • Support deviation investigations by providing technical input and factual analysis.
  • Identify recurring failures and escalate to Engineering & Maintenance.
  • Act as technical support to operators on the production floor.
  • Works strictly in accordance with cGMP, EHS, and site procedures.
  • Ensures product quality, patient safety, and data integrity are maintained at all times and documentation is audit-ready.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement of equipment availability and reliability.
  • Participates in root cause investigations and improvement initiatives as Operations technical representative.

Your Skills and Experience

  • MBO Level 4 or HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.Relevant experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with production equipment such as aseptic filling lines, lyophilizers, visual inspection systems, serialization equipment, and other automated manufacturing systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems troubleshooting.Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities and restore equipment to a qualified operational state.
  • Understanding of cGMP requirements, documentation practices, deviation management, and data integrity principles.
  • Ability to analyze technical issues, identify recurring failures, and support root cause investigations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across Production, Engineering & Maintenance, Quality, and MS&T.
  • Coaching and knowledge-sharing capabilities appropriate to role level.
  • Experience with SAP PM or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a shift-based manufacturing environment.
