Job Description

As a Patient Relations & Health Communications Manager, you will develop campaigns that contribute to improving care for patients with immunological conditions. You will be responsible for leading projects, working extensively in cross-functional teams, and maintaining frequent contact with external stakeholders. Does this sound like your new job? Your Role at AbbVie You are the communication expert who understands how to uncover the unique needs and challenges of people with (chronic) illnesses. You create relevant (online) campaigns for various target groups. You monitor the patient and media environment and proactively share insights with your teams. You are also the first point of contact for the patient association within your indications.

As a Patient Relations & Health Communications Manager at AbbVie Netherlands, you will work in our Public Affairs & Communications team. The team consists of four communication professionals, a coordinator, and a manager, including yourself.

What Will You Do?

  • Create campaigns around immunological conditions aimed at improving treatment and optimizing patient care.
  • Bring the patient perspective into our cross-functional teams and ensure that communication aligns with their needs and AbbVie’s goals.
  • Position AbbVie as a partner in innovative care solutions focused on what matters most to the patient.
  • Maintain contact with external stakeholders such as patient associations, trade media, and healthcare organizations. You are also responsible for internal communication for your projects and indications.
  • Be part of the international network of PR colleagues where you share best practices and work on joint projects.
  • Advise, encourage, and train cross-functional teams to use the campaigns you develop in their interactions.


Qualifications

What Do You Bring? The Patient Relations & Health Communications Manager (Senior Communications Advisor) plays an important role within AbbVie. Are you a senior communication expert, do you enjoy stakeholder management, and do you have demonstrable affinity with the healthcare environment? Then read on to see what else we expect:

  • You have at least a bachelor's or master's degree and at least 5 years of work experience, preferably in (digital) marketing, communication, stakeholder management, or public relations.
  • You have previous experience with patient associations or non-profit organizations.
  • You understand the needs and problems of patients and can share and use these insights appropriately to set up communication campaigns.
  • You can work well in a team and have a good knowledge of organizational, social, and political developments.
  • You have experience in digital (marketing) communication, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and know how to manage external agencies. You are familiar with the ins and outs of relevant (online) communication channels.
  • You have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and can express yourself well in English.
  • You can balance strategic and operational work well. You can easily handle all the information that comes your way and switch between different tasks effortlessly.
