THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you ready to make a real impact on workplace safety, health, and sustainability? At Boehringer Ingelheim, we are looking for an EHS Coordinator to join our team in Amsterdam. In this dynamic role, you will help shape and implement Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs across the ROPU MIDI region, supporting our mission to protect people, the environment, and our operations.

This position is based in Amsterdam and reports directly to the Head of GFE

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve standardized EHS programs and guidelines across the region.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with internal standards and legal requirements.
  • Support and coordinate EHS programs such as “Be Safe, Be Healthy, More Green” and Occupational Health Management activities.
  • Drive EHS awareness campaigns, training programs, and maturity-building initiatives.
  • Implement and oversee EHS reporting, digitalization, and innovation efforts, including automation and CSRD compliance.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure ongoing compliance with ISO standards and national legislation.
  • Provide guidance to R&D and production sites on all EHS aspects.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • 2–3 years of relevant EHS experience, with solid knowledge of compliance requirements and regulations.
  • Fluency in English and strong communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Project management experience and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience with behavior-based safety programs and promoting safety culture.
  • A data-driven approach with an interest in automation and digital tools.
  • International exposure and sensitivity to multicultural environments.
  • Strong team player with interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
