THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a National Account Manager who will be commercially responsible for the Interstitial lung disease (ILD)/ Specialty Care Unit in the Netherlands.  

Some of your duties will involve driving the entire account management approach across all relevant stakeholders (customers, Regional Account Managers, etc.) and leading customer interactions with key decision-makers and influencers to deliver commercial expectations and plans. 

This is a field-based position where you will be required to travel throughout the Netherlands.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement national strategic account planning and continuous review. 
  • Map the national landscape of relevant stakeholders from different levels. 
  • Analyze and make strategic choices on the most relevant stakeholders and influencers.
  • Spot opportunities and develop business case that identifies the appropriate investment level for developing profitable business within the customer portfolio.
  • Drive financial decisions and allocate resources in line with assigned budgets. 
  • Support and challenge regional account planning.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to engage customers in a customer-centric manner, driving the strategic delivery of relevant actions. 
  • Initiate care initiatives based on customer needs, involve the internal organization early on, and use approved scientific materials for Health Care Professional discussions.
  • Promote execution of the account planning strategy through effective leadership. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including market access, sales, marketing, medical and regulatory affairs, to secure national strategy implementation. 
  • Communicate needs for evidence, tools and value arguments to other market access colleagues for them to support on a more effective communication of Boehringer Ingelheim value messages to our customers.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Diploma/Master degree in Business Administration/Economics/Medicine/Sciences or related field or professional training.
  • At least 3 years of experience in B2B sales in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Having a network in the Netherlands's ILD or Rheumatology therapeutic area is considered a plus. 
  • Having a proven track record of initiating partnerships with HCPs (preferably but not necessarily in a specialty care setting).
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and the National Health System. 
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English languages is mandatory.
  • You possess a valid driver’s license.
  • You are result-oriented, innovative, accountable, and agile.
  • A proactive and creative approach to identifying and pursuing new opportunities & solutions. 
  • Ability to build relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Ability to comprehend, present, and use client data, including custom datasets, models, materials, and proposals supplied via market access. 
  • Deep understanding of omnichannel experiences and strategies.  
  • Effective cross-functional communication & collaboration (internal & external).
  • Strong business acumen.
