Senior Supply Chain Specialist MIDI

THE OPPORTUNITY

As Senior Supply Chain Specialist (MIDI), you play a key role in optimizing logistics and distribution activities across all MIDI countries, ensuring efficient warehousing, distribution, governance, and cost management. 

You manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, oversee 3PL/4PL operations, and ensure compliance with GDP and regulatory requirements. With a strong focus on performance management and continuous improvement, you support regional supply chain and logistics projects and act as a subject‑matter expert and primary entry point for Logistics and Distribution topics in MIDI, working closely with the Head of Logistics and Distribution. 

This position is based in Amsterdam and reports directly to the Head of Logistics & Distribution MIDI.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the entry point for all matters related to logistics; inbounds, customs clearance, warehousing, distribution, logistics master data management and logistics-relevant audit deliverables.
  • Oversee governance of 3PL and 4PL service providers, including monitoring and control of KPIs, distribution costs and performance against contractual and GDP requirements – supported by regular performance review meetings.
  • Manage and govern internal logistics KPIs; analyzing performance, identifying improvement opportunities and driving optimization initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives/projects within the regional logistics structure.
  • Develop, implement, and govern Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions and Onboarding materials.
  • Provide backup and support to the Head of Logistics and Distribution, including supply chain and logistics projects and distribution cost control.
  • Support and back up Supply Chain Specialists in daily operations, including inventory management and service provider management.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration or economics with specialization in logistics/supply chain management. (MSc/MBA is an advantage).
  • Strong background in commercial Supply Chain Management processes, particularly inventory and logistics management.
  • Experience in SAP & MS Excel (analytics and mass data processing) is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities to interpret information and KPIs.
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement initiatives, previous project management experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with internal and external stakeholder relationship management, including excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of financial aspects and cost control is preferred.
  • High level of problem-solving capabilities and ability to identify/execute pragmatic solutions.
  • Proactive and structured working style – with attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
