
Research Technician In Vitro Pharmacology
Byondis is an independent Dutch biopharmaceutical company, based in Nijmegen, that focuses on developing innovative medicines against cancer and autoimmune diseases. We are driven by one goal: to develop new treatments to improve the standard of care for patients. Our In Vitro Pharmacology department is part of Byondis’ research division and is responsible for the early stage development of our biopharmaceutical pipeline. Our work involves in vitro cell-based research to identify the potency, selectivity and mechanism of action of our novel compounds through a variety of techniques, using both cell lines and primary material. We are now seeking a highly-motivated research technician with experience in immuno-oncology to join our team.
Your role:
As a research technician you will be primarily responsible for the execution and contribution to the experimental design of in vitro studies for our novel compounds in the fields of immuno-oncology and autoimmunity. You will establish, optimize and perform cancer and immune cell-based assays to functionally characterize and define the mechanism of action of our ADCs, monoclonal antibodies and small molecules. Reflecting Byondis’ emphasis on teamwork, you will closely work in a team of project leaders, researchers and research technicians.
Your profile
- A bachelor/HLO or master’s degree in life sciences or equivalent. PhD graduates will not be considered for this position.
- ≥ 2 years of relevant experience in immunology or immuno-oncology and cell biology, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Eager to set-up and execute cancer and immune cell-based assays to profile Byondis’ compounds.
- Experience with flow cytometry and/or functional cellular assays is a plus.
- Hands-on work experience in mammalian cell culture and handling of primary blood cells.
- Practical knowledge of standard laboratory techniques.
