The department of Analytical Development and Quality Control (ADQC) plays a key role in Byondis’ development and manufacturing activities, because without extensive and accurate measurements, biotechnology-derived medicinal products cannot be designed, improved or applied. That is why we take pride in providing high-quality analytical information to ensure the safety and efficacy of our innovative products in patients.

ADQC comprises a multidisciplinary team of about 30 people with in-depth knowledge and experience in various analytical technologies, ranging from chromatography to electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, microbiology and cell-based assays. Within the department, analytical methods are developed, qualified and applied to characterize new chemical and biological entities, such as small molecule (linker-)drugs, monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates.

Your Role

The Physico/Chemical analysis group within of ADQC is looking for an experienced laboratory technician or a junior BSc who would like to work in an innovative R&D and GMP environment.

In this role, you will focus on performing a wide variety of analytical tests that support process development. You will carry out both routine and more complex analyses, mainly using capillary electrophoresis and liquid chromatography, to characterize Byondis’ biotherapeutics in development.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Performing analyses to support upstream and downstream process development
  • Analyzing samples for stability samples and batch release testing
  • Contributing to troubleshooting and optimization of analytical methods
  • Processing, interpreting, and reporting analytical results

You will primarily work in an R&D environment, with occasional activities in a GMP-regulated setting.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

You are an analytical enthusiast that enjoys performing hands-on work in the laboratory. You have a strong focus on quality, work in a structured and precise way and thrive in collaborations. You are able to communicate your results and findings in a clear and concise way, both verbally, as well as written.

In addition, you have:

  • A laboratory technician or B.Sc. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field with several years of experience
  • Hands-on experience with chromatography and/or capillary electrophoresis for biomolecules, preferably in pharmaceutical industry.
  • Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g. Empower) is preferred.
  • The ability to carefully process and report results
  • A proactive, eager-to-learn, and flexible mindset
