For the Global Site Management team at the Galapagos organization in Leiden, The Netherlands, we are looking for a Program Lead.


Scope of the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Program Lead to join the Global Site Management team in the Leiden Bio Science Park. The Program Lead will be responsible for retaining oversight on the expansion of Galapagos’ global Decentralized Manufacturing Network, to ensure alignment with the company’s strategy and objectives. The role also includes to develop and implement the right tools to track and report the status of the network, from initial screening of potential manufacturers to completion of Technology Transfer and capacity increase of onboarded sites. Additionally, the Program Lead will support the Global Site Management team in performing manufacturer screening, selection based on set criteria and executing site visits to determine whether sites meet Galapagos’ model requirements.


Your role

  • Maintain oversight on the global Decentralized Manufacturing Network status:
    • Generate overviews and dashboards of the network status (sites in selection, Technology Transfer and active clinical manufacturing)
    • Collaborate with the regional Site Management teams to populate the overviews, and identify risks and opportunities against the company strategy and objectives
    • Ensure alignment of the manufacturing network expansion with the Clinical Trial Site expansion
  • Develop, optimize and implement tracking and reporting tools:
    • Further development and implementation of tools to plan, track and report the status of the Decentralized Manufacturing network
    • Provide the regional Site Management teams with the project planning tools which fit seamlessly in the Global tools and reports
    • Align and collaborate closely with our Data Analysis and Site Strategy teams to ensure data is reported out consistently and purposeful
  • Support the Global Site Management team in Manufacturing Site Selection
    • Perform database and other electronic searches to identify potential new Manufacturing sites in regions of interest
    • Perform site visits to assess potential Manufacturers capabilities, capacity and abilities to serve as a Manufacturer within the Decentralized Model

Job requirements

Who are you ?

  • Biotech professional with a MSc in biotech, pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent
  • Strong and proven Program Management skills, including the capability to work with and develop tools to monitor and report on project status (e.g. EPPM, MS Projects)
  • Experience with EPPM is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in working in the pharmaceutical or biotech field
  • Experienced in working with Contract Manufacturing Organisations in pharmaceuticals/biotech
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities
  • Self-driven and can-do mindset, without compromising quality
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel frequently
