The Role and Department

We are seeking a Data Steward to join the Digital TechOps team. This new role in TechOps will be instrumental in safeguarding data quality, integrity and compliance within and across TechOps functional areas, and to ensure frictionless access and usage of data to enable accurate insight generation and fact-based decision making.

Technical Operations at Genmab encompasses the full Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls (CMC) spectrum—including process development, clinical and commercial manufacturing, as well as global supply chain. As a foundational function in Genmab’s integrated R&D-to-commercial model, TechOps plays a pivotal role in delivering on our 2030 vision to transform the future of cancer treatment.

The position reports to Senior Director, Head of Digital Technical Operations  and is onsite either in Copenhagen or Utrecht

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain data-quality rules, lineage, and metadata for critical functional datasets

  • Operate the function’s data catalog/metadata toolset; ensure assets are properly classified and owned

  • Collaborate with the Global Data & Governance (hub) team to manage Data Products deployed to the Genmab Data Marketplace for consumption by data consumers throughout the Enterprise.

  • Monitor data-quality KPIs, investigate issues, drive root-cause analysis, and track remediation to closure

  • Coordinate master-/reference-data alignment within the function and with upstream/downstream systems

  • Liaise with security, privacy, and compliance teams to verify that GxP, GDPR, and audit requirements are met at the dataset level

  • Educate functional users on stewardship roles, data-entry standards, and proper use of governed data assets

  • Provide periodic status reports and risk escalations to functional leadership and the central Data Governance team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Information Management, Data Science, Life Sciences, or related field

  • Hands-on data-governance/stewardship experience

  • biotech/pharma or other regulated domain expertise preferred

  • Practical expertise with data-catalog and quality tools; prior administration or implementation preferred

  • Solid knowledge of metadata standards, lineage concepts, and master-/reference-data management

  • Working familiarity with GxP, GDPR, and cybersecurity controls applicable to functional datasets

  • Proven ability to define and track data-quality KPIs and drive remediation with cross-functional teams

  • Strong SQL and data-profiling skills; comfortable querying cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)

  • Effective communicator able to educate non-technical stakeholders and influence process change
