The Role

The Director Market Access, Pricing & Policy, Europe will be responsible for driving and executing market access, reimbursement, and pricing strategies across Europe to optimize patient access to Genmab’s innovative therapies. This role requires deep expertise in payer engagement, health technology assessments (HTA), and pricing negotiations, combined with the ability to strategically navigate access challenges in a complex and evolving healthcare landscape.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, creative thinker, and resilient leader, capable of building relationships with payers, developing innovative access models, and driving internal alignment on access priorities. The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams and play a pivotal role in securing market access across key European countries.

This position is based in Munich, Copenhagen or Utrecht and will report to the Senior Director Global Access and Pricing.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Payer Engagement & Negotiations

  • Lead pricing and reimbursement submissions to national health authorities, payers, and hospital stakeholders across key European countries, ensuring alignment with Global market access and pricing strategies
  • Develop innovative pricing and contracting strategies, including value-based agreements, risk-sharing models, and managed entry agreements
  • Lead pricing negotiations, ensuring alignment with payer requirements and demonstrating the value of Genmab’s assets
  • Foster strong relationships with payers, health authorities, and private insurers to ensure optimal market access conditions

Pricing & Reimbursement Strategy Development

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all European Market Access strategic initiatives, projects, and activities
  • Communicate the EU specific market access needs and ensure they are well captured in the Global Market Access plan; provide input into JCA strategy and Genmab portfolio development
  • Develop and execute market access strategies to secure timely reimbursement, optimal pricing, and broad patient access across Europe
  • Identify and share best practices across European markets, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement within the Global Market Access and Pricing team

Public & Government Affairs Advocacy

  • Engage with trade associations, policymakers, and industry alliances to shape an optimal European access and pricing environment​
  • Monitor and provide guidance on the European market trends, policy shifts, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic adjustments and ensure Genmab is well-positioned in the evolving European market access landscape
  • Advocate for patient access to innovative oncology treatments through public affairs initiatives and strategic collaborations
  • Develop and drive public policy positions and strategies, ensuring alignment with Genmab’s broader business, financial, and planning processes

HEOR & Value Demonstration Integration

  • Work closely with HEOR (CORE) team to ensure the development of robust economic models and evidence-generation strategies for pricing and reimbursement submissions
  • Provide strategic input into real-world evidence (RWE) and outcomes research, ensuring alignment with EU payer requirements
  • Lead the adaptation of global value dossiers to meet country-specific HTA and payer needs and maximize Genmab’s assets value demonstration

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Health Policy, Life Sciences, or a related field (PhD, PharmD, MD, or MSc preferred),
  • 10+ years of experience in market access, pricing, and policy, with a strong focus on European healthcare systems and reimbursement pathways,
  • Hands-on experience in payer negotiations, HTA submissions, and pricing strategy development in European countries (at least Germany, France, UK, Spain and Italy; other countries are a plus),
  • Proven ability to implement non-traditional access solutions and best practice sharing,
  • In-depth knowledge of European policy trends, tactics, and HTA/payer dynamics,
  • Proficient in engaging with government affairs stakeholders, trade associations, and HTA agencies to shape policy and market access conditions,
  • Experience in making market access recommendations on products in development and suggesting changes for optimization of market access,
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple activities (both "self" and through delegation) and working in a fast-paced environment,
  • Established network with European trade associations, policymakers, and industry alliances,
  • Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus.
