The Role:

As Director, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) , you will be a trusted advisor to our European Commercialization leadership team, supporting our expanding presence across key markets in Europe and the UK. This is a dynamic and strategic HR role at the heart of Genmab’s growth journey as we bring our innovative medicines to patients in new countries.

Reporting to the Head of Europe and Vice President, Global HR Business Partner, Commercial, you will work closely with Country GMs, senior leaders, employees, and global HR colleagues to design and implement talent strategies that support business goals and reflect Genmab’s culture and values. You’ll contribute meaningfully to organizational effectiveness, team development, and our inclusive, high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Partnership: Act as a strategic advisor to the Head of Europe and Commercial leaders, translating business priorities into people strategies that enable growth, performance, and innovation.
  • Talent Development & Planning: Support the attraction, retention, and development of talent across European commercial teams. Enable robust talent processes including performance management, career development, succession planning, and team effectiveness.
  • Organizational Effectiveness: Provide guidance through organizational change, helping leaders structure teams and capabilities to meet business needs as we expand in Europe and the UK.
  • Culture & Change Management: Champion a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and high performance. Lead change management initiatives that align with the company’s strategic vision and foster a resilient, adaptive workforce.
  • HR Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth delivery of core HR processes (e.g., talent reviews, compensation cycles, onboarding) in collaboration with our global Centers of Excellence (COEs).
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders across HR, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Communications to deliver scalable people solutions that align with Genmab’s global strategy and local needs.
  • Insights and Analytics: Use data and insights to inform decisions, identify trends, and drive proactive solutions to workforce challenges and opportunities.

About You

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree in an HR discipline or relevant certifications (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive, hands-on, operational HR acumen: Ability to roll up your sleeves and operate at both strategic and tactical levels, supporting the business through periods of change, growth, and ambiguity.
  • Experience in organizational build-outs: Demonstrated success in scaling or standing up a business function or regional organization, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Commercialization expertise: Prior experience supporting Commercial teams (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, etc.) during key product lifecycle phases, including pre-launch and launch, is highly desirable.
  • Industry experience across Europe and the UK strongly preferred: Prior HR experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or broader life sciences industry is highly desirable.

Leadership & Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior executives and business leaders across a global, matrixed organization.
  • Proven track record of driving innovation in HR practices, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in HR data analytics, utilizing insights to drive strategic decisions.
  • Expertise in leading large-scale change initiatives, aligning organizational culture with strategic objectives.
  • Proficiency in HR systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, etc., is preferred.
