Purpose of the role :

In alignment with Company’s values and Country strategy, the Country Medical Director is the medical lead and medical accountable person for all ViiV activities in the Netherlands:

  • Execution and oversight of all medical activities according to the internal rules and procedures (compliance) and according to the standards of medical governance within ViiV HC.

  • Medical scientific support for local research activities and for local marketing & sales activities (medical affairs activities) according to legal and deontological requirements as outlined by ViiV HC

  • Steering of LOC in tandem with Country Manager

Key Accountabilities :

  • Develop and implement ViiV portfolio local medical affairs strategic and tactical plan

  • Strenghten the KOL network & partnership with ViiV

  • Ensure training of local VH team - Manage & Ensure the proper tailored development plan for each member of the medical team and provide the necessary support

  • Guarantee oversight of Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs activities performed via GSK shared services

  • Support to Marketing and Market AccessVH Accountable person for all topics related to “Medical Governance & Compliance”

- Accountable for processes related to Grants, Donations, PAG interactions + Third parties contracted by medical dept.

- Ensure medical governance as well as operational oversight for outsourced clinical trials and management of Investigator Sponsored Studies

- Copy approval of trainings and promo/non promo materials

Networks The “Country Medical Director” :

  • Is an office based function with regular field meeting

  • Is reporting hierarchically to CMD Italy

  • Collaborate with Country Manager and EU functions

Essential and desirable experiences :

  • At least 7-10 years experience in company in medical roles, including field based role

  • Doctor’s degree in Medicine (M.D.) or Biology - Immunology, infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Pharmacology, or scientific background with 5 to 10 years experience in a pharma company.

  • Residency and/or Post-doctoral training in a clinical practice/pharmaceutical industry setting-

  • experience in Infectious Diseases/ HIV

Knowledge :

  • Degree: Medicine/ Pharmacy/ Biology

  • Fluent in Dutch

  • English: Advanced
