We have an incredible opportunity for a Lab Analyst to join the Quality Control (QC) laboratory team in Assen, Netherlands.

The QC laboratory is part of the CMC department (Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control). The QC Laboratory is analyzing all types of new medication prior to use in humans in a clinical trial.

The QC laboratory is responsible to assist in development of medication formulations, setting up and validating new analytical methods and analyzing new medication prior to release for human use. Within the QC laboratory a position of a laboratory analyst has become available:

Location: Assen, Netherland

The Role:

  • Perform Quality control analysis on new medication intended for the use in human clinical trials. Release of the new medication for human use depends on the analytical data generated by the Quality control laboratory.

  • Has a thorough understanding and complies with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations

  • Several techniques in the laboratory to perform tests in a GMP environment e.g.

HPLC/UPLC analysis Endotoxins Osmolality

Subvisbile and visible Particle counting Density

pH Dissolution Disintegration

Water content (Karl Fisher)

Compendial tests according to international standards (Ph.Eur., USP)

  • Interpreting and data processing/reporting results and approve or reject the analysis

  • In study planning based on own preferences (daily basis).

  • Understands the principles behind analytical methods utilized

  • Ensures on-time task completion to support the overall goal of on-time study completion.

  • Work project-based with all types of different types of new medication and a variety analytical methods

  • Work independently as part of a study team to perform analysis

  • Contributes to investigations when analytical data show unexpected results

  • Performs (peer) data review for quality control.

What you will need:

  • Knowledgeable of laboratory processes. Knowledge of GMP is an advantage.

  • Perform analysis independently.

  • Solves routine issues. May seek assistance to resolve more complex and difficult issues.

  • Education as Laboratory Analyst MLO or HLO

  • 32 40 hour workweek

  • A critical view to identify unexpected analytical results.
