We are excited to offer an opportunity to join IQVIA as a MarCom Associate Director , strategically leading our EMEA Tech and CHIL Marketing & Communications Team.

In this strategic and impactful role, you will oversee both marketing and communication activities, for the Regional EMEA Tech Function (primary focus) and, additionally, the Switzerland & Israel (CHIL) team (secondary focus). You will be instrumental in developing and executing MarCom strategies and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and engagement both internally and externally.

Your responsibilities will include creating and managing communication materials, coordinating campaigns, and strategically supporting ad hoc marketing inquiries. Additionally, you’ll focus on enhancing internal collaboration, optimizing processes, and tracking the ROI of marketing efforts. This role demands a strategic mindset coupled with strong execution skills to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates are passionate about both marketing and communication, experienced in building and executing strategies, and skilled at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This role collaborates extensively with global, regional, CHIL, and enterprise marketing and communication stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities – Within EMEA Tech

External Communications

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive MarCom strategy for EMEA Tech in collaboration with functional leads, aligning marketing activities with broader business objectives.

  • Provide strategic guidance and execution on marketing activities for Tech functions, including prioritizing conferences/events, webinar initiatives, and targeted email campaigns in collaboration with the global business unit.

  • Lead the planning and execution of high-impact Tech events, and key regional events, ensuring alignment with the EMEA Regional Business Unit (RBU) Marketing and Communication team and relevant business functions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (EMEA RBU Marketing and Communications team) to ensure alignment on campaigns, tactics, and measurable outcomes across business units.

Internal Communications

  • Strategically plan and execute internal communications initiatives, town halls, quarterly general manager newsletters, and monthly updates, to enhance engagement and alignment.

  • Drive leadership visibility and engagement through curated internal communications, such as podcasts with the Leadership Team (LT) and year-end videos.

  • Establish and manage the EMEA Tech centralized hub for communication resources and updates.

  • Develop and implement a cultural and engagement strategy to foster collaboration, build a strong community within marketing teams, and drive employee engagement.

  • Others:

    • Provide strategic oversight of the marketing budget, including spend tracking, accrual management, and financial alignment with broader goals.

    • Partner with the EMEA RBU Marketing and Communications Team and Enterprise Marketing Operations Team to produce data-driven insights through monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics reports, summarizing campaign performance, social media impact (organic and paid), and web traffic analytics.

    • Work jointly with the EMEA RBU Marketing and Communications Team and Enterprise Marketing Operations Team for the strategic planning and management of TechIQ.

Additional Responsibilities – Within the CHIL Cluster

  • Support the CHIL team in strategic marketing planning for both HQ and local businesses, guiding high-impact initiatives such as event organization and key campaigns that align with CHIL’s long-term goals.

  • Coordinate marketing efforts for CHIL, covering both HQ and local businesses, including:

    • Developing and implementing marketing plans,

    • Managing operational marketing efforts (e.g., process optimization for coordination with GTM teams and tracking ROI).

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration by aligning stakeholders across business units on campaign strategies, tactics, and measurable outcomes to maximize business impact and ensure cohesive messaging.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing and communications.

  • Master’s degree, ideally with a focus on marketing/communications.

  • Proven track record of managing and leading marketing teams, fostering collaboration, and driving high performance.

  • Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations, anticipate challenges, and develop innovative, forward-looking solutions.

  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); proficiency in German is a plus.

  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to working with diverse cultures.

  • Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends, as needed.
