What you will be doing:
The Lenti Viral Vector Facility / Pollux project: Janssen Biologics B.V., part of Johnson & Johnson, is setting up a new production facility in Sassenheim. This new facility will produce lentiviral vector, which is used in the treatment for multiple myeloma, a disease affecting 160.000 patients globally. The project team is preparing to get ready for commercial production in 2025.
The Centre of Expertise (CoE) is an essential support group in the LVV Facility. The CoE is a critical team in the direct support of Operations when it comes to technical process and GMP support and always works to meet the high-quality standards and safety and compliance regulations that are applicable for LVV manufacturing.
We are looking for an (associate) Business Excellence Specialist who will strengthen our team of specialists. You will drive Lentiviral vector Manufacturing batch operational improvements through continual analyzing and improving the executions of process stages to support LVV delivery.

As an (associate) Business Excellence Specialist you make operational processes safer, easier, simpler and more stable. As a Business Excellence Specialist, your duties will include:
- Analyze Operation processes [manufacturing and transactional] effectiveness through actual observations.
- Develop with user’s lean tools such as standard work execution plans, work combination charts, training matrixes etc.
- Work with stakeholders to develop, implement & establish KPI’s
- Establish performance tracking and governance
- Leads and supports improvement initiatives (multiple projects/program lead).
- Train stakeholders on lean principles
- Drive focused continual improvement based on KPI’s
- Have a keen eye on the AT, R&D, JSC, JNJ and industries best practices ensures we are the forerunner in safety, quality and lean.
Qualifications
We would love to hear from you, if you have the following essential requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, biomedicine, process technology (or equivalent education).
- Associate manufacturing specialist 2-4 years’ experience in a biotechnology or biopharmaceutical industry environment. 1 -2 years for WO graduate
- Manufacturing specialist 4-8 years’ experience in a biotechnology or biopharmaceutical industry environment. 2 -4 years for WO graduate
- Experience with cGMP environment and EHSS standards is required.
- Proactively sees and finds work, knowing and visibly taking ownership of responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal in English (required) and Dutch (pre)
- Recognizes, acknowledges, and involves employees with different backgrounds, talents, knowledge and ideas
