Company Overview:

J&J Innovative Medicine, Research & Development, L.L.C., a division of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Director, Partnership Operations. The position can primarily be located in Titusville, NJ; Spring House, PA; Raritan, NJ; Beerse, BE; Leiden, NL; Allschwill, CH. Other locations may be considered as needed. Position Overview:

This role is critical in driving the successful delivery of a dynamic R&D portfolio by building and overseeing operational excellence within the Global Development (GD) Partnerships organization. The accountabilities will cover a range of activities, including, but not limited to, strategizing, standardizing and implementing operational and governance frameworks, building and leveraging data driven capabilities, stakeholder communications, quality oversight, tracking goals & objectives, implementing standardized metrics, and managing document libraries. The Director, Partnership Infrastructure will be a key member of the Partnerships Leadership Team and serve as a key connector between Partnerships stakeholders across R&D and enabling functions. The Director will be accountable for establishing capabilities that ensure consistency, compliance, quality, oversight, value creation, and enablement of the other Partnerships’ functional accountabilities. The Director will report to the VP Partnerships and will work closely with members of the Partnerships team and key functional and business leaders across R&D.

This position involves setting the strategic direction for Partnership infrastructure, driving standardization, enabling controls and solutions, and producing data insights to steer business strategy and further operational excellence. They will optimize existing processes and proactively identify and pursue new solutions in close partnership with the involved GD functions, Finance, R&D Procurement, R&D Quality, and other J&J Innovative Medicine stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnership Operations:

o Own the strategy, creation, harmonization, and optimization of Partnerships infrastructure, processes and frameworks (i.e. governance, RACIs, playbooks, etc.) via collaboration with Partnerships functions and other J&J stakeholders

o Ensure optimal data availability and visibility for impactful business insights

o Own and oversee core business processes and frameworks, including operational excellence strategies within the partnership framework and business operations support

o Manage centralized support of quality related activities and deliverables, ensuring availability of provider performance via the collection, analysis, and reporting of performance, compliance and inspection readiness data, and provider issue/escalation data for all in scope providers; ensure central coordination for audit and inspection requests to Partnerships

o Develop central communication strategy, oversee central stakeholder engagement initiatives and manage communication streams

  • Data Focus: Develop and drive data insights and analytics to aid decision-making in vendor management and oversight, collaborating with stakeholders and colleagues to shape data infrastructure and improve capabilities where applicable

o Establish a thorough understanding of available data sources to enable Partnerships value delivery and support Partnerships functions with proactive and ad hoc data provision and analysis

o Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and strategy development; improve partnership execution

o Provide external industry lens to drive meaningful strategies and insights

  • Innovation and Continuous improvements:

o Define key data metrics and KPIs for the business to execute against

o Strategic vision for continuous improvement and operational excellence within Partnerships

o Support cross-functional improvements or enhancements, RACI development, etc.

  • Documentation, Issue Management & compliance:

o Oversee the development and maintenance of partnership standards, templates, & playbooks and ensure category specific completion

o Oversee the updates of Partnerships owned training

o Support the creation and execution of an infrastructure for tracking and measuring issues, ensuring transparency into provider responsiveness; oversee the creation and maintenance of an oversight evidence library: metrics, governance, escalations, CAPAs, and inspection/audit findings

  • Team Leadership: Lead and provide guidance to a team of Partnership Infrastructure professionals. Ensure alignment with goals, vision, and contractual obligations.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work with agile mindset in lean team with capacity to build strong relationships between internal stakeholders and external counterparts. Develop functional expertise to anticipate future needs.
  • Travel: Up to 10% domestic and potential international travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in a business or scientific field
  • A minimum of 10 years of related industry experience is required.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership success.
  • People Leader Experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing strategic solutions is required.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and influence decision-making across a matrix organization is required.
  • Knowledge of supplier processes and contracting is preferred in either in a deliverables‐ based model or functional‐ service provider model.
  • Knowledge of process excellence is preferred, demonstrated via PMP certification, Green or Black Belt, FPX certification, or other equivalent.
  • Sound business and financial acumen is an asset.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $160,000 to $276,000.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
