Purpose of the Role
As Sales Consultant Central/West Netherlands , you are fully accountable for the commercial performance of your assigned territory. You develop and maintain long‑term relationships with orthopaedic surgeons, procurement- and other stakeholders and OR teams, with a clear focus on sales growth, market share expansion and strategic account development .
The role includes limited clinical support ; the primary emphasis is on sales execution, commercial strategy, account ownership and territory management .
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Territory Ownership

Full responsibility for revenue, growth and profitability within the Central/West Netherlands territory.

Develop and execute territory and account plans aligned with national sales strategy.

Proactively identify and convert commercial opportunities within existing and new accounts.

Lead commercial discussions, pricing negotiations, tenders and contracts within agreed frameworks.

Manage forecasting, sales pipeline and performance reporting.
Account Management & Relationship Building

Build strong, trusted relationships with key decision makers (surgeons, department heads, procurement).

Position DePuy Synthes as a strategic partner , not just a product supplier.

Monitor market trends, customer needs and competitive activity within the territory.

Coordinate and drive product launches and commercial initiatives at account level.
Limited Clinical Support (Sales‑Driven)

Attend selected surgical procedures to support sales objectives , not as a primary clinical role.

Ensure correct product positioning and provide basic product guidance where required.

Work closely with Clinical Experts when in‑depth clinical support is needed.
Internal Collaboration

Collaborate closely with Sales Management, Marketing, Clinical Support and Supply Chain.

Share market insights, best practices and customer feedback with the wider sales organization.

Actively contribute to sales meetings, business reviews and strategic projects.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s level working and thinking ability.
-
Proven experience in sales within the medical devices industry (orthopaedics is a strong advantage).

Demonstrated experience with territory ownership, key account management and commercial negotiations .

Affinity with the operating room environment; deep clinical expertise is not required.

On October 14, 2025, Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
It is anticipated following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes, and your employment would be governed by Orthopaedics employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. Details of any planned changes would be provided to you by Orthopaedics at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.
