Mentor Worldwide LLC, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Production Planning and Logistics to be located at the Mentor site in Leiden, Netherlands.

Mentor is a leading supplier of breast implants in the global aesthetic market. The company develops, manufactures, and markets innovative, science-based products for surgical and non-surgical medical procedures that allow breast surgery patients to improve their quality of life. The company is focused on two strategic areas: breast reconstruction and breast augmentation. MENTOR® is the only manufacturer whose silicone breast implants are made in the U.S.A. For over 20 years, more than 5 million women have chosen MENTOR® Breast Implants.

The Sr Manager, Production Planning & Logistics leads and develops a group responsible for controlling the production plan and optimizing the planning and inventory control of materials used in manufacturing processes to achieve company service levels. The Sr Manager is the key liaison with the Global Logistics Center and is accountable to the MLC for ensuring execution to the monthly Supply Plan. Maintains optimal material inventory levels and inventory accuracy. Optimizes supplier relationships. Continuously analyzes processes and independently seeks opportunities to identify projects and drive improvements. Coaches, mentors and direct assigned employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for controlling the production schedule by directing the production planning and control activities at the plant levels, duties include line and capacity planning, shop order release, kitting, and the in-process Kanban monitoring
  • Provide Leadership and vision to optimize the Plant Supply Chain process (Capacity Planning, Scheduling and Inventory Mgmt.) through use of Process Excellence and Lean practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement of Supply Chain metrics and responsible for meeting customer fill rates and planned inventory level targets for RM & FG.
  • Executes optimum production plans which satisfy demand requirements and detail the labor, raw material, and inventory needs.
  • Monitor effectiveness of scheduling and mfg. execution process and continuous improvement of those processes.
  • Manage internal control processes to meet regulatory and compliance requirements. Follow J&J Records Management Policies for Convenience Information, Records and Information Management, Vital Records and third-party vendor if applicable.
  • Ensure that Lean practices are continually improved. This includes a systemic renewal of planning parameters and the support to the material flow improvements in the manufacturing facility.
  • Coach supply chain team in processes necessary to accomplish properly evaluated schedules & changes with respect to inventories & resources & monitoring same to ensure consumption & production are being accomplished as planned.
  • Mentor & coach department associates on career development and provide performance feedback to direct reports on a quarterly basis or more frequently if required.
  • Reduce obsolescence excess & slow-moving material exposure by direct interface with engineering, materials, manufacturing, marketing & finance in the release of new products & phase-out of old products.
  • Support physical inventory & cycle count programs as required in support of corporate financial & operations requirement.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned & not all responsibilities listed may be assigned
  • Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum of BS in Business, Finance, Logistics or Engineering. MBA in related fields a plus.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 8+ years in Mfg. and/or Logistics for health care industry required
  • 5+ years in at least one of the following disciplines: materials planning, master scheduling; inventory management, demand management
  • People Management Skills
  • Support internal and external collaboration across levels, creating effective solutions.
  • Understanding of planning system functionality and integration into S&OP/IBP processes.

Preferred:

  • Certificate as CPM, CPIM is a plus.
  • PE or Six Sigma Green Belt certified is a plus

Other:

  • Able to communicate and writing skills in English
  • Travel requirement: Up to 10% of national and occasional international travel may be required.
  • The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis
