Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis

An amazing opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis at Packaging plant in Haarlem. This is an exciting opportunity to get some further hands-on experience in a dynamic pharma environment.

Welcome in our team

Our Finance team brings together our financial perspectives into our overall strategic and tactical decision making.  Reporting to the Site Finance Lead, you will work with the Finance team and Operational areas to support the analysis and development of the financial information required to successfully support the company’s endeavors. You will become a member of the ELT (extended Leadership team) onsite and will work with people at all levels of the organization to develop, report, monitor and manage key financial and non-financial performance indicators.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support Finance Lead with the preparation and submission of the annual operating budget / forecasts using zero-based budgeting approach to achieve corporate deadlines and ensure divisional targets are met
  • Responsible for robust capital governance, forecasting, reporting and accounting
  • Support, analyze, and assist in the development of standard costs and monthly analysis of production variances
  • Complete Monthly Financial closing and Performance Reporting and explanation of variances, including the completion of dashboards
  • Lead monthly Cost Council & drive Cost Governance at site, driving a focus on site cost saving/productivity initiatives and development of finance performance metrics
  • Partner with Site Finance Lead to provide financial input and advice to our company’s leadership team
  • Support Site Finance Lead with management of operational and strategic initiatives e.g. costing new products / initiatives
  • Develop, implement and monitor internal financial controls and procedures of the company and coordinate both internal and external audits including SOX compliance
  • Support Site Finance Lead with all pipeline product cost calculations
  • Drive continuous process optimization, standardization and stability
  • Lead and support finance training sessions
  • Actively contribute as a member of the GPO Finance Team on cross-site finance process and system improvement projects.
  • Required Experience and Skill
  • A professionally qualified accountant, or equivalent qualification, with 5-8 years post qualification experience ideally in a multinational manufacturing environment
  • Demonstration of key finance competencies with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a multinational industry and pharmaceutical industry desirable (preferably both)
  • Experience in planning, budget and forecasting processes.
  • Experience in inventory accounting and manufacturing variances.
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Strong computer skills, especially working with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Results and process-driven orientation
  • Solid team player with strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks as appropriate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a challenging and complex environment while managing several priorities
  • Accountancy qualification
  • Minimum B.A./B.S., preferably in Business, Finance, Science or Engineering
