About the role

As the Director GCS EU Distribution Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that clinical supplies are delivered on time from our Haarlem location to prevent any delays in patient treatment. You will work closely with the Global Clinical Supplies team to develop efficient logistic strategies that keep costs down while maintaining high customer satisfaction and compliance. You will also collaborate with the Global Logistics team at our Haarlem location and serve as the main GCS representative on site.

This role is a key part of the GCS Leadership Team, contributing to the strategy to keep GCS agile and able to support our portfolio. In addition, you will be expected to build positive business relationships, solve problems effectively, and demonstrate strong leadership skills within the organization. Reporting will be to the Head of GCS Clinical Supply Operations Europe. Join us and make a difference in our team!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for Clinical Supply Chain Management, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

  • Lead Clinical Supply warehousing and distribution at the Haarlem site.

  • Develop the GCS CSO footprint at the site in line with the global GCS CSO Europe strategy.

  • Serve as an expert in technology and regulatory requirements.

  • Define and track key performance metrics for GCS processes.

  • Forecast, plan, and monitor cost and headcount requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with the Global Logistics Organization in Haarlem.

  • Develop innovative services, technologies, and processes in collaboration with the Innovation, Technology, and Networking Team.

Your profile

  • At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with most of the time spent in logistics and/or manufacturing operations, including exposure to Quality and/or continuous improvement activities.

  • Well-developed and effective team facilitation and leadership skills; able to establish cooperative team environments.

  • Effective at energizing others, establishing clear goals, and delegating responsibility within a team setting.

  • Ability to set priorities well and make the right decisions under time pressure.

  • Willingness to travel for meetings (up to 10%).

  • Six Sigma experience preferred (e.g., green belt, yellow belt).

  • SAP COMET experience preferred.
