EHS Coordinator – Operations & Facilities

You will be part of our Operations & Facility team (O&F), within our R&D department, where we embrace a positive mindset that is focused on getting things done as a team. With approximately 25 colleagues, including 3 EHS Coordinators, we are committed every day to ensure that the R&D department can do its best possible work in an efficient, compliant and safe manner.
About the position
As an EHS Coordinator you ensure that our R&D department operates according EHS standards and protocols. You are an approachable knowledge bearer who supports the R&D colleagues by carrying out operational EHS tasks. You enjoy sharing your knowledge through training and instructions and you introduce new colleagues to EHS and in particular R&D. You also regularly conduct departmental inspections and participate in internal EHS inspections. Incident investigations are also part of your job. A versatile role in which you contribute to a safe and healthy working environment.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the central point of contact for all EHS matters within the R&D department.
- Translate and implement our EHS standards and protocols to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide training, guidance and information regarding EHS topics to R&D staff.
- Identify and proactively address unsafe situations.
- Support and participate in incident investigations and emergency response activities.
- Conduct periodic EHS inspections and report findings in designated registration systems.
- Write and implement relevant EHS documentation and new regulations in standard operating procedures.
- Facilitate EHS introduction training for new employees.
- Engage in operational meetings to maintain effective communication with the shop floor.
- Collaborate with fellow EHS Coordinators and EHS Improvement Engineers experts across departments.
Your profile
- A completed education at the Bachelor level in a relevant discipline (e.g. Biotechnology, Chemistry, Safety)
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in an EHS-focused role.
- Excellent communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong perseverance and influencing skills.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to prioritize and maintain an overview.
- A positive attitude towards change, flexibility, a solution-oriented mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English, both oral and written.
- Currently living within a reasonable commuting distance of Boxmeer.
