Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant reports directly to the Associate Director Entities Controller of Animal Health and works closely with other members of the Accounting Department.
In this position, you will support our Animal Health Technology Solutions business. You will be responsible for all accounting and compliance-related topics. In this position you will work with different teams like our Business Service Centers and Center of Excellence in the various regions, IT, and Corporate Tax.

- Participate in all activities related to Animal Health Technology Solutions.

- Report to the Associate Director Entities Controller of Animal Health.
As a Financial Accountant your tasks & responsibilities are:
A mix of complex and standard activities, where decisions should be made, in consultancy with the Associate Director Entities Controller Animal Health. Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinate the monthly financial closing process in line with US GAAP.
- Build relationships with essential finance and business figures within the Animal Health Network.
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements in collaboration with the Associate Director of Financial Control & Compliance.
- Maintain a robust control environment on financial, operational, and external business relationships.
- Support audits and ensure timely responses to any audit findings.
- Work with team members to streamline and standardize activities.
- Collaborate with Business Service Centers and Centers of Excellence on accounting practices.
- Assist in cost-sharing and contract obligation activities.
- Work with Global IT, Supply Chain, & Corporate Tax to ensure that goods and invoice flows align with the Global Transfer Price Policy.
- Seek process optimizations and efficiencies.
- Assess the financial impacts of projects and business deals.
Your profile
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in finance and accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Familiarity with Dutch GAAP and US GAAP.
- Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act in a business partnership role.
- Experience in process design.
- Experience with VAT.
- Familiarity with systems (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Analytics, HFM, BPC).
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Ability to thrive in an international environment, being a proactive and motivated team player.
- Open, eager, and learning drive with a sense of humor.
- Willingness to travel within the country.
