Logistic Operations Officer

Welcome in our team

Our Regional Distribution Center Team, comprised of three dedicated employees, manages and supports all daily operations related to inbound logistics, inventory, and outbound distribution. This team is an integral part of the Global Logistics Team, which includes 16 employees across three teams, and ultimately falls under the Global Supply Chain Management department.

Purpose of the role

As a Logistics Operations Officer, you will be essential in overseeing the flow of high-tech products to and from a third-party logistics service provider in the Netherlands. This warehouse serves approximately 7,000 customers worldwide, with about 95% located within the European Union. You will work with both internal and external vendors globally, where your responsibilities will involve coordination, communication, and execution of tasks using SAP.

Key Responsibilities You will be accountable for several key areas within the department:

Outbound Operations:

  • Manage sales order processing for around 1,000 shipments per month directed to end customers and dealers.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial colleagues to address order management inquiries.
  • Coordinate with the logistics service provider to resolve exceptions and challenges.
  • Address and resolve operational issues, including those related to serial numbers.
  • Organize and oversee export shipments, ensuring all documentation is prepared for approval.
  • Liaise with multiple freight forwarders to coordinate shipments.

Inbound Operations:

  • Create and manage purchase orders with our internal vendors.
  • Work in conjunction with the purchasing team to ensure correct processing of purchase orders.
  • Monitor and follow up on the timely arrival of inbound shipments.
  • Manage inbound logistics within the ERP system.
  • Coordinate incoming shipments with logistics service providers.

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee inventory management, including handling damages, conducting stock comparisons, and making stock corrections.
  • Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.

General Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with established processes.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders.
  • Utilize the ERP system SAP and Excel for daily tasks.
  • Resolve issues manually approximately 30% of the time.
  • Maintain master data settings.
  • Drive improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in various projects.
  • Coordinate value-added services, such as relabeling, pre-installation of controllers, product assembly, and battery recharging.

Your Profile

  • A higher education (HBO) degree, ideally in logistics or a commercial-economic field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A strong interest in supply chain management and customer service is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of transportation logistics and hazardous materials, such as batteries, is a plus.
  • Outstanding communication skills suited for a global, intercultural business environment.
  • Proficiency in both English and Dutch.
  • High familiarity and experience with automated information systems and ERP tools.
  • A proactive problem-solving mindset and the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing workloads.
  • Flexible, detail-oriented, and able to perform under pressure.
