Welcome to our Team

Our Global Pharmaceutical Technology Support (PTS) group (> 100 employees) is the steward and owner of the science and technology and the associated processes for small molecule products in our animal health organization being manufactured by internal sites and external partners. Our PTS team in Boxmeer (4 employees) supports our Site leadership team in supply, regulatory and compliance activities of existing and new small molecule products, through the demonstration of scientific process understanding to insure reliable, compliant and cost-effective supply, covering technology transfer (site-to-site), process engineering and process validation, complex troubleshooting, change control, process development and improvement, as well as product quality review.

Purpose of the role

Reporting to the Associate Vice President of PTS and as part of the global PTS leadership team, you will lead and support a skilled team managing projects focused on providing in-line support for small molecule products in Boxmeer, including site-to-site product transfers. You will ensure that pharma process technology projects align with our animal health strategy, the Global Quality strategy, and regulatory requirements, overseeing project execution, budgeting, and resource planning. Additionally, you will identify and implement process improvements to enhance robustness and relevance. Your team will also facilitate communication between manufacturing sites and other global support departments during project execution.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in Technology Transfer, Technology Development, and Technical Support across complex dosage form platforms, including sterile formulations, aseptic processing, sterilization, freeze drying and visual inspection.
  • Oversee packaging technology related to various dosage forms.
  • Lead the introduction of new technology platforms.
  • Manage new product introductions throughout the commercialization process from the receiving end.
  • Serve as a key troubleshooter for technical issues and challenges in the manufacturing environment.
  • Provide in-line product support and implement productivity initiatives through scientific rigor and appropriate technical expertise.
  • Provide exceptional leadership during site regulatory inspections.
  • Demonstrate scientific process understanding when presenting investigations.
  • Support regulatory inspections through comprehensive development of PTS-owned GMP systems.
  • Support site initiatives focused on aseptic excellence.
  • Monitor efficiency, effectiveness, and resource allocation in response to evolving demands.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives through current Opportunity Assessments.
  • Focus on people development and talent management to ensure the necessary competencies are met.
  • Collaborate with the global Pharma Technology Support Group for internal and external partner support.
  • Foster an environment for collaboration across the global network, promoting a boundary-less organization mindset.
  • Engage in knowledge management, communities of practice, virtual technical networks, product stewardship, and best practices sharing.

Your profile

  • Honors Degree, Master’s, or PhD in Science (Process Technology, Pharmaceutical Technology, Industrial Chemistry) or Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Process, Industrial, or similar).
  • Significant experience in a technology or manufacturing role within a pharmaceutical company; expertise in sterile aseptic Fill-Finish is a plus.
  • Proven technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to coach others in solving issues.
  • Experience in leading and developing a team of specialists, including capability building and acting as a leader-coach.
  • Skilled in navigating large organizations and aligning multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills across diverse functional areas, ensuring stakeholder alignment on technical strategies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, EMEA) and strong understanding of GMP standards.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English.
  • Living close to Boxmeer (NL).
