In this essential role, you will be responsible for managing sourcing activities for both large and small Molecules supporting Animal Health, Global Animal Health Manufacturing and R&D for new product introductions all while contributing to the overall success of our company.

The Animal Health Global Supplier Management (AH-GSM) team consists of approximately two hundred professionals dedicated to the compliant, competitive, and innovative acquisition of goods and services from leading suppliers and partners.
The Direct Materials Team is responsible for sourcing activities and supplier management for Raw Materials, Product Contact Components, Eggs & Birds, and ABI in both large and small molecules supporting all of Animal Health, Global Animal Health Manufacturing and R&D for new product introductions. In this role, you will support the Raw Materials Global Category (e.g., adjuvants, excipients).
Purpose of the role:
As a Senior Specialist Procurement, you will join an enthusiastic team and primarily focus on sourcing, innovations, negotiation, implementation of contracts, and supplier management to support our company’s Animal Health division. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that our sourcing strategies align with the overall business objectives and contribute to the successful introduction of new products. You will be responsible for identifying and engaging with suppliers who can provide high-quality raw materials and components while fostering strong relationships to ensure ongoing collaboration and innovation.
In addition to sourcing, you will play a key role in risk management by assessing supplier capabilities and market conditions, thereby mitigating potential disruptions in the supply chain. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing business needs. You will also be involved in cross-functional teams, collaborating with R&D, quality assurance, and manufacturing to ensure that all sourcing decisions support the company's commitment to excellence and compliance.
This job role is challenging, diverse, and complex, requiring you to have a high level of flexibility, dynamic and strong project management skills.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Drive the development and implementation of sourcing strategies as well as risk and cost reduction initiatives.
- Lead and participate in global cross-functional project teams to deliver global strategies.
- Manage the development and management of Supplier Performance/Relationship Management.
- Oversee contracting strategy and implementation.
- Develop a broad understanding of stakeholder and business needs and priorities.
- Support as a sourcing expert in cross-functional and risk mitigation teams.
- Identify and promote improvement opportunities together with suppliers.
Your profile
- Initiative-taker and adaptive individual with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong focus on value creation, proactive risk mitigation, and cost optimization.
- Experienced in the operations and governance of sourcing projects.
- Understanding of global supply chain principles in a global environment.
- Capable of managing multiple simultaneous and complex projects, ensuring timely deliverables through effective communication and time management.
- Ability to translate and manage raw materials strategy execution, considering site needs, risk, total cost, and resources.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledgeable in ERP systems (Ariba is a plus), and quick to learn new software systems.
