Purpose of the role

You take up responsibilities for several internal and external reports for our company and multiple holding companies within the Group (US GAAP and Dutch GAAP). You work closely with the other 40 members of our Dutch Entities Controlling Group. Together we ensure our management and statutory reports for multiple legal entities are delivered timely and correctly. Your goal is to grow into the accounting and reporting functions of our company and ensure correct financial records are maintained, as well as to identify and execute improvement initiatives. This is an excellent role for a starting financial professional who wants to work in a global organization, learn more and have a growth path in financial controlling.

Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Perform General Ledger accounting following US GAAP, Dutch GAAP, and tax guidelines;
  • Accurately and promptly account for all Headquarter accounting transactions;
  • Prepare the annual statutory accounts for holding companies as per Dutch GAAP;
  • Assist the lead accountant with internal reporting to various stakeholders and with Sox 404 audits.
  • Prepare reports for the Statistical Office (CBS) and the Central Bank (DNB);
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from various stakeholders including the Headquarter, Corporate Tax, and Treasury departments;
  • Assist with the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of processes within your work area;


Your profile

  • Accounting/Finance education or equivalent (Bachelor’s Degree). A Masters in Accounting/Finance is preferred;
  • Accounting experience in an international, production or pharmaceutical environment during internships would be advantageous;
  • Good understanding of accounting guidelines and practices, including US GAAP and Dutch GAAP;
  • Proficiency in using SAP, Excel, and other MS Office applications;
  • Required to have business-level proficiency in English, both spoken and written;
