Senior Specialist Freight Forwarding
Purpose of the role
Reporting to the EMEA Logistics Services Leader; the EMEA Logistics Senior Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the framework is available for internal customers to organize and execute transportation of shipments of which Organon is responsible. The Transportation Manager maintains and builds relationships with the key stakeholders in this process, which includes both our 3rd party logistics providers and our internal stakeholders including e.g. site logistics, planning and demand fulfilment. Strategically it is expected that this person investigates ways and methods to optimize the transportation management throughout the Region, to come to an efficient and cost-effective transportation framework. The role offers the opportunity to play an instrumental part in shaping the logistics environment for the company.
Main responsibilities
- Lead and manage preferred Logistics Service Providers (LSPs), ensuring seamless operations while driving cost savings and performance enhancements. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of a global supply chain.
- Organize and participate in operational and strategic review meetings, creating synergies on a regional level while maintaining a holistic view of supplier performance.
- Build and nurture relationships between EMEA logistics teams and LSPs, ensuring alignment and excellence in execution.
- Collaborate with LSPs to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement performance improvements.
- Partner with ExM groups to use compliant, cost-effective transportation solutions that meet regulatory standards.
- Lead the supplier selection process in the region with procurement and stakeholders, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Act as the escalation point for operational issues, freight bill audits, and challenges related to shipments, invoices, and claims.
- Coordinate CAPAs to drive ongoing enhancements in processes and relationships.
- You’ll be the driving force behind building strategic partnerships with logistics providers, fostering innovation, and delivering measurable results.

Your profile
- A solid academic background with at least a bachelor’s degree in economics, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, including 5 years of specialized expertise in logistics, giving you the foundation to excel in this role.
- A track record of managing suppliers effectively, mastering KPI development, and driving CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) initiatives to deliver exceptional results.
- Proficiency in logistics operations, including trade compliance, import/export processes, and incoterms.
- A strong focus on customers and solutions, coupled with the proven ability to forge and nurture impactful working relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that enable you to tackle challenges with confidence and precision.
- Experience with SAP and/or Transport Management Systems will set you up for success in this role.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Experience leading and participating in cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration to achieve shared goals.
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
