Hybrid position based in the Netherlands

Purpose of the role

As a Specialist, you will report directly to the Associate Director of Entity Accounting. Your role involves managing various accounting functions for NV Organon and multiple holding companies within the Group. You will collaborate closely with members of the Entity Controllers Group, Business Controllers, Corporate Tax department, Treasury department, the Global Delivery Operations (GDO) Center in Lisbon, and the Indirect Tax Competency Center.

Our Finance team integrates financial perspectives into our strategic and tactical decision-making processes. We leverage state-of-the-art techniques for financial analysis, planning, accounting, reporting, and performance evaluation. This approach enables the organization to continue advancing medical innovation and improving lives.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate financial closing for NV Organon and multiple holding companies in compliance with US GAAP, Dutch GAAP, and tax ledger requirements.
  • Implement and meticulously document Sarbanes-Oxley (SoX) controls.
  • Oversee monthly journal entries for intricate and non-routine transactions, such as LEI and dividends.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of trial balance fluctuations for holding entities.
  • Review monthly interest and loan accounting, including the (re)payment of principal loan amounts.
  • Work closely with Treasury on dividend processes and prepare dividend tests prior to payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial results presentations.
  • Compile quarterly supervisory board and works council reports.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for NV Organon and holding companies in accordance with Dutch GAAP.
  • Calculate and report Corporate Income Tax for holding entities.
  • Prepare and submit DNB reports.
  • Conduct quarterly real estate reporting.
  • Handle quarterly intercompany recharges.
  • Provide support for various special projects.
  • Address ad-hoc requests from stakeholders, including Tax, Treasury, and US Consolidation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support audits and ensure timely follow-up on any findings.
  • Work with GDO and the Global Process Owner on accounting practices and reports.
  • Provide backup support for team members.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within your work area.

Your profile

  • Possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance or accounting, with a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of national and regional finance laws, regulations, and standards, ensuring the financial integrity of the business and its financial statements.
  • Well-versed in both Dutch GAAP and US GAAP.
  • Upholds the highest standards of ethical behavior in all interactions, ensuring compliance with all laws, policies, and regulations, and addressing ethical issues proactively.
  • A resilient and reliable individual who prioritizes stakeholder needs.
  • Builds trust and credibility by consistently delivering results and honoring commitments.
  • Experienced with SAP (S4/HANA), an advanced user of Excel, and proficient with financial reporting tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
