Internship – Procurement Spend and dashboard optimization

This internship strengthens Synthon’s procurement reporting by executing corrections, improving data structures, and enhancing the accuracy and usability of the company-wide procurement dashboard. By improving data quality across all spend categories (API, RLD, Packaging, Indirect, CapEx, Logistics, IT, etc.), the intern supports better sourcing decisions and enables early identification of improvements, savings and/or consolidation opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Execute Data Corrections (Primary Activity)- In co-operation with Data Analytics team

• Correct misclassified suppliers, categories, subcategories, cost centers, GL codes, and taxonomy.
• Normalize supplier names and consolidate duplicates
• Repair incomplete or inconsistent spend entries.
• Validate corrections with Category Managers, Finance, or Master Data.
• Ensure all adjustments flow correctly into the spend cube.

2. Identify & Propose Improvements

• Detect patterns in classification or reporting errors.
• Suggest structural improvements such as taxonomy updates or coding rule enhancements.
• Document improvement proposals in a practical playbook.

3. Reporting Support & Opportunity Spotting

• Highlight spend fragmentation, consolidation opportunities, and category shifts.
• Support enhancements of Excel reports or Power BI dashboards.

4. Collaboration Across the Company

• Work with Category Managers, Finance, Master Data, and Procurement Leadership to validate corrections and embed improvements.

Required Skills & Profile

Education: Supply Chain, Procurement, Economics, Business Administration, Business Analytics or similar.
Technical Skills: Excel proficiency; affinity with data analysis; Power BI/ERP/SQL/Python as plus.
Personal Competencies: Detail-oriented, curious, proactive, structured, communicative, independent.

• Corrected and improved dashboard inputs
• Improvement recommendations and root-cause logic.
• Updated taxonomy and coding rules in co-operation with data intelligence team and master data team
• Insights summary with opportunities.

The internship compensation is between €450 and €500 gross per month, depending on the level of education
