Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager of Mechanical Engineering to join our extraordinary team in the Research and Development organization for Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a team of engineers in Eindhoven and Brno with a strong background of delivering innovative solutions in the field of mechanical engineering.

Coordinate the Mechatronics team, guiding a group of around 20 dedicated engineers who focus on control systems designs, thermal and dynamical control, and modeling. Your responsibilities will include developing the team's competences to support the execution of product roadmaps, managing relationships with strategic development partners, and ensuring the quality of the team's output. The team is based across Eindhoven (The Netherlands), Brno (Czech Republic), and Korea, consisting of regular employees and contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a group of 15-20 engineers in Mechanical Engineering R&D department, ensuring projects are driven seamlessly and timelines are met with precision.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to identify project requirements and effectively implement creative solutions.
  • Take charge of driving the development of innovative products, drawing upon your established skills and proficiency in mechanical engineering.
  • Go for in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality results and give to the company's ambitious growth targets.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Connect with industrial partners, knowledge centers and universities on the development of new concepts or modules to support our product roadmap.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Dynamics Engineering/Mechatronics or a related field, with experience in design principles of mechanical system development.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Consistent track record of successfully leading and delivering sophisticated mechanical engineering projects.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
