Purification technician will be responsible for performing and improving small scale fermentation, filtration and chromatography processes of new Capture select affinity ligands, manufactured in our ISO9001 certified Naarden site. Supporting production of manufacturing processes in the cleanroom will also be part of this role. As purification technician you will be involved in the complete workflow, learning and operating multiple technologies for the manufacturing of biological products.
Our Capture Select ligands are produced through upstream (fermentation), primary recovery (MF and UF) as well as purification (IEX chromatography) technologies. Our customers use our Capture Select affinity resins for the research, development and manufacturing of new, innovative biopharmaceutical, from new antibody, gene or cell therapies to recombinant proteins, for the treatment of life-threatening diseases.
Key responsibilities
- Execution of R&D fermentations in small scale bioreactors, Microfiltration and chromatography purification.
- Develop chromatography purification processes for single domain antibodies
- Carry out process validation studies
- Improve existing purification processes
- Manufacture of ligand in a cleanroom environment
- Writing and reviewing documentation of development protocols, reports and batch manufacturing documentation.
- Writing and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Initiate and perform continuous process improvement activities
- Participate in multidisciplinary planning meetings to ensure supply chain integrity, on time delivery and new product introduction goals
Skills and Experience
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in biosciences/biotechnology/bioprocess technology
- You master the English language (both orally and in writing)
- You can work in a team as well as independently
- Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work in cross functional multidisciplinary teams
