Scrum Master System Team – Transmission Electron Microscopy

Transmission electronic microscopes are the most sophisticated laboratory instruments that are used today. Platform Software is essential into exploiting all the potential of these microscopes, pushing the limits of current physical technologies. These tools and our software applications are used by scientists and engineers in life science, material sciences and semiconductor industry, indirectly affecting our life in many aspects. By contributing into this platform software, you might help developing better vaccines, new lighter and stronger materials, or more efficient semiconductors.

How will you make an impact?

You will have a self-propelling role, working as a member of one software development teams within the R&D organization, to assist team members in becoming more productive and efficient by adopting Agile, Scrum and SAFe principles.

Your primary responsibility is assisting the self-organizing, self-managing team to achieve its goals. You will do this by guiding and coaching team practices, implementing and supporting SAFe principles and practices, identifying, and eliminating impediments, and facilitating flow. You will also work with the extended Scrum Master community, including Release Train Engineers, to increase the effectiveness of SAFe across the enterprise.

You will take ownership of promoting continuous improvement while meeting team goals efficiently and effectively. You will encourage the team to work together, speak up and step forward, advocating a self-organizing and self-managing team. You will further actively coach your colleagues to improve efficiency, autonomy, and agility to react quickly to change.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor the team on SAFe/Scrum values, principles, and techniques.
  • Help the team improve and take responsibility for their actions; ensure the team retrospective occurs and is valuable.
  • Guides problem-solving techniques and helps the team become better problem-solvers for themselves.
  • Facilitate and support all Scrum team level ceremonies, such as sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint review/demo and retrospective.
  • Act as a safeguard for the team, shielding them from outside distractions and interferences, and removing obstacles that stand in the way of team productivity and performance.
  • Facilitate the collection of accurate and clear team level metrics to be openly shared with anyone.
  • Build clarity in processes and remove impediments, driving alignments across the team and improving its efficiency.
  • Participate and Facilitate in SAFe level ceremonies such as Scrum of Scrums, Program Increment planning and system demos.
  • Support the Product Owner in Initiative, Epic and story level planning for smooth day-to-day operation of the team.

Education / Experience:

The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary technical environment to address sophisticated problems. If you enjoy the development of high-performance integrated systems, this is an excellent opportunity.

  • Typically requires at least 3+ years in a full-time Scrum Master role.
  • Experience with and worked in a multisite and multidisciplinary environment.
  • PSM I and PSM II certified (Scrum.org or comparable)
  • Experience with SAFe is a plus.
