We are looking for a Senior / Account Development Representative (Inside Sales - Clinical Research) to join our Commercial organization - Clinical Development Services Division.

Discover Impactful Work:

The Senior/Account Development Representative works in collaboration with field Business Development to support RFP funnel growth by researching prospective client pipelines, identifying qualified leads, nurturing client relationships, and driving revenue growth through proactive outreach and proposal/meeting support. Assists sales activities in the areas of lead follow-up, client activities and conference support, and targeted marketing programs across PPD business units. Serves as mentor to junior members of team if on senior level.

A day in the Life:

  • Generate leads through extensive business knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional areas.
  • Deliver measurable contributions to Business Development by engaging new clients or contacts, securing client meetings, and harvesting RFPs. Responsible for approximately 150-250 accounts.
  • Manage and grow a pipeline of leads using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Proactively reach out to prospective clients via phone, email, and online channels to generate and qualify potential target accounts
  • Serves as a mentor other staff members
  • Track and report on sales metrics, lead status, and customer feedback; stay informed on industry trends, client needs, and competitor activity.

Keys to Success:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years’) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
  • Years of experience refers to typical years of related experience needed to gain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Years of experience are not to be used as the only determining factor in establishing the job class or making employment selection decisions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong ability to develop a territory management strategy, identify and develop sales leads within the territory, professionally present capabilities, and collaborate with others to hand-off the relationship internally
  • Knowledge of CRO service offerings including clinical trial support, regulatory affairs, preclinical studies, and data management.
  • Ability to coordinate information from and follow-up with diverse sources in order to develop relationships with internal and external clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure professional interactions with internal and external clients
  • Ability to collaborate and integrate with various internal departments
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the industry, the company, and functional areas in order to strategically generate leads
  • Adept at sales automation systems and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent organization and time management skills in prioritizing daily activities and responsibilities with focus on target
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support lead generation strategies, webinars, and targeted outreach campaigns.
