We're seeking passionate professionals who thrive in high-stakes environments, uphold rigorous quality standards, and share our relentless commitment to transforming the lives of patients.  Join us in making the impossible possible, where your expertise becomes a catalyst for life-changing treatments.

Position Overview
The Senior Business Application Specialist (ERP) is a hands-on execution role at the heart of uniQure's SAP S/4HANA Public Edition journey. This position drives and delivers the full ERP implementation lifecycle — from business need identification and fit-to-standard design sessions through configuration, testing, issue resolution, user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and go-live support — as well as ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement after go-live.
Beyond implementation delivery, this role brings a strong change management and technology adoption mindset, ensuring uniQure colleagues are actively engaged and equipped throughout every phase of the journey. The Senior Business Application Specialist acts as the functional subject matter expert (SME) for SAP S/4HANA and related business applications, builds trusted relationships with key users and business process owners, and ensures all solutions and documentation remain compliant and fit for purpose.
This role has a primary focus on SAP S/4HANA Public Edition but will also engage with the broader application landscape relevant to our biopharma operations.

The Senior Business Application Specialist works closely with business process owners, key users, and the IT team. During projects and implementations, this role collaborates directly with project stakeholders, integration developers, and external SAP partners to ensure seamless delivery. For day-to-day operations, the role coordinates with IT Support Engineers on incident triage and escalated application issues, and reports to the Manager Applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute end-to-end SAP S/4HANA Public Edition implementation activities: business need identification, fit-to-standard workshops, solution design, configuration, testing, UAT, training, go-live support, and post-go-live maintenance.
  • Drive change management and technology adoption: proactively engage, communicate with, and train uniQure colleagues to ensure successful adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Manage and coordinate integration development: define integration requirements, oversee and validate integration work performed by internal or external developers, and ensure seamless data flows between SAP S/4HANA and connected systems.
  • Serve as the functional SAP S/4HANA SME: provide 2nd-level application support, resolve issues, and act as the first point of escalation for business process and system questions.
  • Maintain system configuration, process documentation, and compliance artifacts in line with uniQure's change management and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and translate business requirements into effective SAP solutions within the standard scope of S/4HANA Public Edition.
  • Support vendor management for SAP-related services: oversee quality and timeliness of deliverables from SAP partners and third-party service providers.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience with SAP ERP, with significant experience in SAP S/4HANA is essential. Public Edition experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of independently executing SAP implementation activities: fit-to-standard workshops, configuration, testing cycles, UAT facilitation, end-user training, and go-live support.
  • Familiarity with SAP integration tools (e.g., SAP Integration Suite / BTP) and experience managing or reviewing integration designs is preferable.
  • Change management and technology adoption experience: demonstrated ability to bring end users and stakeholders along in system and process transitions.
  • Project management skills and experience steering or participating in structured ERP rollout programs.
  • Experience working in the biopharma, pharmaceutical, or biotech and GxP-regulated environments
  • Ability to manage or coordinate integration workstreams: defining requirements, overseeing development by third parties, and validating integration quality and completeness.
  • Experience working in an international organization with cross-functional and cross-cultural stakeholders.
