The Opportunity

To further strengthen our in-country finance leadership, we are opening an exciting opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to join Abbott as Controlling RtR CFS, The Netherlands . In this role, you will lead a team of finance professionals and oversee in-country Controlling activities for several key entities.

The in-country CFS team supports more than 15 entities across Marketing & Sales, International Distribution, Manufacturing, and Holding activities.

The CFS team ensures that accounting records for all entities in scope are prepared and maintained in accordance with Abbott’s accounting policies, chart of accounts, and applicable accounting principles. The team prescribes methods for providing accounting data for reports and financial statements and works closely with Shared Service organizations (particularly HUB management) and Division Finance teams to enable timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting.

In addition, the CFS team supports Abbott’s international operations in budgeting and financial planning, customer service and order management, and customs and trade compliance activities.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and ensure the integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting processes for entities in scope, including regulatory compliance and internal controls

• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve a robust internal control environment

• Oversee and enhance financial control processes to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting

• Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, working closely with Shared Service organization colleagues, CFS Leadership Team members, and Division Finance teams

• Serve as a trusted finance partner to the business, providing accurate and timely analysis and advice to support decision-making

• Take responsibility for financial reporting for the entities in scope, including detailed and periodic reviews of financial results

• Perform ad-hoc analyses and support a variety of requests from multiple stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

• A seasoned finance background with broad and/or deep expertise, demonstrating strong command of complex financial concepts, practices, and precedents

• A university degree in Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field; CPA preferred

• 10–15+ years of experience in comparable financial controlling roles within international environments

• Proven experience, or clear potential, in leading and developing sizeable professional teams

• Strong experience in internal controls, SOX, and financial compliance

• Solid technical accounting expertise, including US GAAP and local statutory reporting

• Demonstrated experience in effectively linking Finance and IT

• A creative, analytical, and innovative mindset
