
EHS Team Lead Systems & Compliance
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Abbott Weesp is a key site within the Abbott Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD). In our state-of-the-art production facilities, qualified employees manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for medicines such as laxatives, hormones, and the flu vaccine.
For our pharmaceutical production site in Weesp, we are looking for an:
EHS Team Lead Systems & Compliance
A strategic and technically skilled EHS professional responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environment, Health, and Safety policies, systems, and programs. Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) across multiple EHS domains, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
We require a willingness to travel one day per week to our other EPD site at Olst.
Key Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional teams and SMEs to resolve complex EHS issues and implement best practices.

Coordinate and execute EHS audits, develop action plans, and ensure follow-through.

Serve as liaison with government agencies regarding environmental and safety compliance.

Oversee EHS management systems, ensuring stakeholder alignment and regulatory compliance.

Support strategic projects, budget planning, and capital execution aligned with site and division goals.

Qualifications

HBO/WO degree in science or technology; specialization in safety and environmental subjects preferred.

ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 qualifications desired.

Minimum 6 years in a similar role; 5 years in a production environment.

Fluent in English (written and spoken) and Dutch (or willingness to learn)
