Senior Medical Science Liaison – Shortened & Professional Version
Role Overview
The Senior MSL is the scientific and medical expert for Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC), driving high‑quality medical engagement with healthcare professionals and key external stakeholders. The role supports scientific exchange, thought‑leader collaboration, and cross‑functional initiatives with sales, marketing, and market access teams to advance ADC’s medical strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary scientific contact for HCPs, payers, and external experts, ensuring accurate and credible information on ADC products and diabetes care.
- Deliver medical and scientific presentations in clinical settings, meetings, and educational events.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key opinion leaders and relevant healthcare organizations.
- Support national medical strategy execution in collaboration with commercial and market access teams while maintaining functional independence.
- Coordinate and lead regional educational activities, scientific symposia, and advisory boards.
- Attend scientific conferences and prepare summaries of relevant insights to shape strategic priorities.
- Provide internal medical training and ensure staff are up to date on scientific developments and guidelines.
- Review and approve promotional and training materials for scientific accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with national laws, regulations, industry codes, and company policies.
- Contribute to medical value dossiers, tender support, and broader clinical strategy development.
Qualifications
Education
- Required: Scientific degree
- Preferred: PhD or MD
Experience
- 3–5 years in health sciences, ideally within medical devices or pharma
- Experience in customer‑facing healthcare environments
- Diabetes care experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of evidence‑based medicine and scientific communication
- Ability to interpret and translate complex scientific data
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- High integrity, accountability, and results orientation
- Fluent in the local language
- Proficient with MS Office
- Driving license required
