The Opportunity
Abbott Rapid Diagnostics specializes in providing innovative diagnostic solutions to improve patient care, offering a wide range of point-of-care (POC) testing systems designed to deliver rapid and accurate results directly at the care site and in diverse healthcare settings.
The role will be within the Infectious Market Business Unit and responsible for ensuring Abbott RDx leads in large-scale moves toward Point of Care (POC) within the public, private, and strategic partners in the primary and secondary care sectors. This includes collaborating with the Netherlands commercial organization, Third Party Distributors, and relevant external agencies to execute the sales and business development strategy. The role also involves ensuring accurate and efficient coordination and administration of all business operations in compliance with Abbott guidelines and ethical policies.
Additionally, the role requires developing a high-performance team with depth, defining the sales strategy in collaboration with the Commercial Manager to achieve and reflect company goals is another key responsibility.
What You’ll Do
- Developing markets and customers, achieving sales targets, and providing general customer service in the various areas of responsibility.
- Identifying potential targets for strategic partnerships and alliances is also essential.
- Developing and executing the full Abbott Rdx product portfolio within the assigned area.
- Selling products in various market segments to different types of customers (public, private) and environments, e.g., emergency services, laboratories, cardiology units, economic departments, etc.
- Managing and maintaining sales in the Account Manager’s territory, including controlling expenditures and sales margins.
- Maintaining a high level of personal knowledge regarding applications and technologies related to products and participating in congresses and customer presentations.
- Responding to customer needs and problems, taking necessary steps to solve them.
- Serving as a communication interface for tracking competition, detecting new opportunities, and developing our market.
- Articulating issues and business opportunities with relevant customers to secure long-term strategic business opportunities.
- Supplying data for the customer database and submitting sales reports and other required information.
Qualifications & Skills
- At least 5 years’ sales experience in Medical Diagnostics or similar environment
- Detailed understanding of the Health-care and IVD-market.
- Demonstrable track record in negotiation success, securing contracts and achieving profitable growth.
- Ideally experience delivering change initiatives and facilitating change in a customer focused organization.
- Ability to think innovatively and not be constrained by current practices.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain positive people relationships and build strong links with all departments in a company matrix structure.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment and ambiguous situations.
- Skilled in building compelling business cases and managing stakeholders in long sales cycles.
- High level of initiative, success driven, responsibility, accountability, and agility.
- Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence others and build strong departmental relationships.
