What you will do
The EHS Manager – Contractor Safety Management is responsible for managing and advancing the Environment, Health, and Safety programs at our Breda site, with a specific focus on contractor safety.
This role requires a strategic leader with expertise in Dutch and EU EHS regulations, who can implement and improve programs that ensure compliance, safety, and operational excellence in all contracted activities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in identifying risks, influencing safety culture, and managing cross-functional partnerships to uphold Amgen’s EHS standards.

In this vital role you will:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on Dutch/EU regulatory requirements, Amgen corporate standards, and industry best practices to maintain full EHS compliance.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve contractor safety management programs, conducting risk assessments, program audits, and compliance inspections.
- Collaborate closely with Facilities & Engineering and third-party providers (ISPs) to ensure safe outsourced activities, monitoring compliance and adapting training programs as needed.
- Represent Amgen Breda in corporate EHS networks and external industry organizations, contributing to Amgen's reputation for excellence in health and safety.
- Coach and develop internal stakeholders, fostering an inclusive safety culture across all levels of the organization.

What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The EHS Manager – Contractor Safety Management professional we seek needs these qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field, engineering, quality, or Environment, Health & Safety (EHS).
- Certified as MoSHE or HVK.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS program management within a regulated environment, ideally in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or high-tech industries.
- Proficiency in digital tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, etc.) to manage and report EHS data.
- In-depth knowledge of Dutch and EU regulatory guidelines and experience tailoring EHS systems for compliance in biotech or pharmaceutical settings.
- Proven expertise in developing programs that optimize safety, mitigate risks, and enhance operating efficiency.
- Strong skills in strategic thinking, project management, and relationship-building to effectively manage change and influence diverse stakeholders.
