Sr. Medical Advisor – Hematology/Oncology

At Amgen Breda medicines are labelled, assembled, stored, and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people from 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing, and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

What you will do

As the Medical Advisor for Hematology-Oncology, you will:

  • Drive medical strategies for inline hematology products and the launch of a new oncology product in gastric cancer.
  • Serve as the primary medical expert for cross-functional and global teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to align scientific understanding with clinical application.
  • Facilitate impactful collaborations that elevate standards of care for patients.

In more details, you will focus on:

  • Strategic Leadership :
    • Develop and implement the local medical strategy for hematology products in collaboration with the MSLs and the Franchise team.
    • Lead strategic launch planning and execution for the new gastric cancer product, ensuring optimal biomarker testing implementation and integration into clinical guidelines.
  • Scientific Expertise :
    • Act as the medical authority for the assigned product, answering complex inquiries and educating stakeholders.
    • Share competitive landscape insights to support effective decision-making.
    • Provide training to internal teams on disease state, product details, and treatment criteria.
    • Approves scientific content of local materials, publications, meetings, etc.
  • Engagement and Collaboration :
    • Build and sustain strong connections with KOLs, study groups, patient organizations and lead or support medical events, including advisory boards.
    • Share knowledge on assigned (launch) products, competitor landscapes, medical access criteria, biomarkers and guidelines with Franchise team, GDO and Global teams.
    • Support real-world evidence (RWE) projects in collaboration with access and data science leads.
  • Regulatory and Access Support :
    • Offer medical expertise to inform reimbursement discussions and dossier development.
    • Ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies.

What we expect of you

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, University degree) in a relevant field.
  • Proven expertise in industry in the hematology-oncology field or related therapeutic areas, with a preference for product launch experience.
  • Strategic thinker  with business acumen, with strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Science based, analytic, data-driven, outside-in thinking and adaptable, with an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communicator, both with internal teams and external stakeholders.
